Stand, crouch, prone.

If you want an NPC to crouch at a specific point, then set the character to a waypoint at the point you want them to crouch. Have the waypoint set to a couple of seconds pause and the action to magic hands low.

Though if in combat and the character's ai is set to use cover, then as long as you provide some cover they'll crouch automatically.

How do you do that? I decided not to use realtime combat because it seemed impossible to me to keep the characters relativly safe, since to me it seems that the only "AI" controls there are is the RoE control.

What provide cover? Just give them something to hide behind, a few sandbag tiles or an object.

Many objects are flagged 'V' for cover but they should duck behind short walls and sandbags as well.

Edit Sorry posted that when I just woke up, most actors should be set to use cover by default.

In the level editor, once you've placed your actor press F4 to edit the entities, and then click on an actor. On the left you'll see a window with the entities properties, if you click anywhere in the grey background and keeping your mouse button pressed you'll be able to scroll up and down. The use cover option is in the Tactics section below Nature.

No, I mean during gameplay. So does Hes Vital, as far as I understand his statment.

Since it's in the modding and not gameplay forum, from his question I take it he's talking about NPCs not squad members.

Though I admit my first response was to just post 'A'.
