By that do you mean computer controlled actors?

If so how are you overcoming the de-sync problems?

That's right.
I need you guys' help.
Because I cannot find the Fallout Tactics source code.
Also I cannot find those scripts.
If you have any ideas.
I'll be glad to hear them.
:D

The source code hasn't been released.

There aren't any scripts, it's all done via the gui based triggers and pre-determined ai routines set by race and options in the level editor.

So how have you overcome the de-sync problem?

So this might take some time.
Because I think I have to "RE" make Fallout Tactics.
Maybe I can tell you more later.
But I still don't know work or not.
Hope it will be petty.
:D

A lot of work for an unpopular game, not to mention probably against the EULA.

wasn't quite true then?

Well good luck to you.

does this co-op allow you to play the story mode? Now that would be a hell of a Co-op mode. I mean play the game from beginning to end as a team!!!

Exactly!
However, players should need the possibility to save the game (at least the host should). Is it doable?

I agree that Tactics wasn't a worthy successor of F1/2, but It was a great hack'n'slash(-like) game and those badly need a co-op mode!

ohh, and one more thing: max players: 6, right?
This means 6 people (living one's, with legs, head's and stuff in front of a PC) or 6 characters? A guy can have only 1 character or more?

THAT RIGHT !
It supports Single Player maps storyline mode.
Now I am working on it.

Hi.

I've been reading topics about FOT multiplayer mod, in hope of the ultimate game experience. But as far as i've been reading, people says that its impossibe. I dont know anything about that, because i dont know anything about coding, but i wonder, would it be possible do morrowind-like-working multiplayer mod?

'cause, as far i understand, morrowinds multplayer mod realy is'nt a multiplayer game, in fact it copys otherplayers characters, and makes NPC's out of them, and puts them into other players games, so they act just like the player who "controls" them.

So would it be possible doing FOT's multiplayer mod similar way?

May be that thats a stupid idea as rock, i dont know.

That sounds very complex, anyway the basic problem with co-op against the computer in FOT is the computer controlled actors. So that would probably make things even worse.

damn....

please, don't take away my last hopes of playing some day FT in co-op mode! That's the last thing i got ;p

go Rick, go Rick, go Rick, go!

So when it this aimed to be done =)

Me and my friend were discussing a co-op a few nights back, seeing someone making a mod for it is just sweet!

I don't have no problems on all of those sp maps.
I mean all of the sp maps can be play.
Major problem is the D-sync as you guys were saying.
I will upload a map as a demo so you guys can test it as soon as possible.

PS:I need a place to upload it though.

:D

Rick try reading the forum before you post. NMA has a file section you can upload files to or you can upload direct to 3d downloads.

How can the maps have no problems if de-sync is still a major problem?

On that note has anyone had any sync problems when using Hamachi?

I'm seeing a couple of gameplay problems you may not have taken into account.

1) Are you planning on going from Mission 1 to the end.
If so how do you plan to impliment:
a) The world map
b) The quarter master

2) Unfortunately over the net you need to create your own char and then equip them. What stops someone creating a lvl 10 char with an assult rifle on the first mission?
How does this then mean that your character changes for each mission. Surely you'll have to select a new character for each new map and thus their stats + equiptment would reset itself.

3) If each mission is meant to be a stand alone perhaps you need to find out about prefab characters.

4) Would (in a two player game) each person control three or six squad members? Are you adjusting the difficulty to take this into account? i personally have added loads of goons to my single player campaign because i think it is far to easy. Would you do the same.

5) What is the deal if some of the characters die? In multiplayer the game will go on but does that mean that you need to restart. Or create a new character. If your whole squad (for one player) dies do you both have to restart the mission?

If you're serious about this and you've got a good system that works please create a rule set that at least touches on some of these points.
