Someone should try to render it for Fallout and see how it looks like. Because on all the render screens it looks pretty hard and blurry (the computers as example, etc).

What I wonder, does someone know if these models (or some of them) for Van Buren have been created from scratch or if they just have been re-used from Fallout 1 / 2?
 
Would be really, really nice if someone could upload somewhere all meshes (in .obj format) + textures (extracted from archives). In this way everyone will have access to them without installing Blender, downloading whole tech demo, searching for extraction tools, etc.
 
I spent some time trying to get this to work. It turns out the blender script does not work, but the *.ms file works in 3D Studio max apparently. I don't have that program so I cannot try it:

Does not work with Max 2010. It through an integer type error. Apparently you need version 9, which I am looking for now.
 
Yeah, there's a Python script (.py) for Blender and MaxScript (.ms) for Max (or at least I think so). I already tried to run it, but without any success (error).

Everything which is working with 9 should work with 2008 (and vice versa).
 
It's a real pain in the ass to get a legal version of Max 9. I think I found the last mirror on the net. I will give that a whirl when it finally downloads.

Maybe we can get Senpay to export them all to Obj for us.
 
I thought interest in those resources will be bigger, they're from the TRUE KVLT Fallout 3! :eek:

Every mod should have them, just for the melancholy purposes! :ugly:

Me to :( I guess we can make this an MR exclusive :wink: just kidding. I am still downloading max. I hope I can get this working.

If you'll get this shit to working... why not! At those renders they're looking horribly low-poly... but for in-game purposes they should be fine, I guess... I'll pimp the meshes/textures if necessary.

Weren't these already converted? I know that buggy was, because I included the file in the MM (just haven't actually used it). Pretty sure I have the motorcycle too, but I don't remember seeing if the others were converted.

Those where made from screenshots :P no one has done anything like this before. I am trying to work out how to texture frames right now.

If I'll get meshes (and textures) I'll render them ALL (or most of them) and prepare for adding to game*. Of course scenery objects only, no weapons, or critters.

But some of them will need little tweaking. Like that truck above. Look at "windows" around cabin (or whatever that shit is). You can see "tilling" of color map there. This needs to be fixed.

*it's called team work! :D

Potentially 500 + with some work. Some of the files will not convert though. I think the script is still being worked on.
