Viking/Norse style games?

Nonagon

Still Mildly Glowing
Anyone know of a good game with some Norse Mythology(and not Too Human)? An older game is fine, I just want to lob off some heads with an axe, literally or otherwise, as a badass viking.

There's this third person action adventure game that was released in the early 00's that sucked called Rune.

Beyond that, I have no clue, most Norse themed gaming is pretty damn bad.

Age of Mythology.

Rome: Total War with Barbarian Invaders Expansion.

Age of Empires 2.

1.Rune (Hack and slash) its kinda old but still nice !
2.Loki (RPG) a combination of Aztec, Egyptian, Greek and Norse mythologies

i don't have anymore games in my mind right now.

Heimdall was awesome - the axethrowing remains one of my favourite moments :) I played it on my Amiga 500 back in the day:

The game's homepage with screenshots etc

Edit: AAAAAArgh at the silly names given in Wikipedia that are impossible to link ...

What about mount & blade ?

It might be more focused on knights etc, but i think there are some vikings in there also.

Check it out, pretty cool game.

It means "Awesome happiness fun time i love you".

Translated into engRish anyways.

Ragnarok!

It's bloody ancient, but I played it for hours on end back in the early 90's.

It's a roguelike game, and a pretty good one at that. I had a lot of fun with it.

Actually re-played it a year or two ago out of sheer nostalgia.

*EDIT*indeed, impossible to link...

That game is as fun as hell. Nords are in there. Not really a game based on Norse mythology, but you get to wield axes nonetheless.
