So imagine you had a sentient race like the Zoras from Zelda or some such shit. How would those cats build their civilization, what would they eat? what sort of buildings would they make? where would they shit?
What would a civilization of underwater fish people look like?

Precisely my avatar's race:
The Hylotl, a proud amphibious species, were concerned with beauty. It's what drove them, the pursuit of perfection. Through years of living under the ocean, they developed empathy towards all other species, with a strong desire to reach out and save all living things. As such, they were pacifists and herbivores, content to simply live in peace until one day they were forced out of their homes, and off-world entirely, by the dreaded Floran menace.
From Starbound, these three-eyed anthropomorphics have the second most advanced civilization (tech wise). They became aquatic due to early predation from the Florans. Despite their spiritual and pacifist in behavior, deep inside them they still hate their predators.
They have an Eastern Asian style, very centered about sea life, while there's feudal Japan mixed with cyberpunk too.
