What's your MBTI?

boer_kameel

Still Mildly Glowing
Carl Gustav Jung, one of the previous centuries greatest psychologists (besides Freud), was the pioneer of analytical psychology.

Psychologists Myers and Briggs refined his ideas into MBTI, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

This MBTI allows one to categorize a personality into one of 16 classes.

If you take the test here, then you can find out what type you are.

You can then look up more info here, and try to figure out what INTP's other people are. Or what would be a best fit for a partner, or best career choice.

It helped me to better understand myself, without having to go to a shrink. Why pay some quack when you can do it yourself, eh? ^_^

I'm a INTP, sometimes ENTP (depends on work/personal situation). Your personality may change over time, due to new stimuli, changing surroundings or traumatical experiences.

My traits:

The Thinker

As an INTP, your primary mode of living is focused internally, where you deal with things rationally and logically. Your secondary mode is external, where you take things in primarily via your intuition.

The INTP is usually very independent, unconventional, and original. They are not likely to place much value on traditional goals such as popularity and security. They usually have complex characters, and may tend to be restless and temperamental. They are strongly ingenious, and have unconventional thought patterns which allows them to analyze ideas in new ways. Consequently, a lot of scientific breakthroughs in the world have been made by the INTP.

-> Quite true actually. I am "weird", don't mind being it, distrust people who strive to be "normal", use reason and logic to counter most situations, I'm a loner, and have made some minor unique breakthroughs.

I guess quite some people around here are INTP's or ENTP's. In general you're smart and eccentric people, which I like.

ENFP?

ENFP - "Journalist". Uncanny sense of the motivations of others. Life is an exciting drama. 8.1% of total population.

Well that was lame.

INTP - "Architect". Greatest precision in thought and language. Can readily discern contradictions and inconsistencies. The world exists primarily to be understood. 3.3% of total population.
INTP
loner, more interested in intellectual pursuits than relationships or family, wrestles with the meaninglessness of existence, likes esoteric things, disorganized, messy, likes science fiction, can be lonely, observer, private, can't describe feelings easily, detached, likes solitude, not revealing, unemotional, rule breaker, avoidant, familiar with the darkside, skeptical, acts without consulting others, does not think they are weird but others do, socially uncomfortable, abrupt, fantasy prone, does not like happy people, appreciates strangeness, frequently loses things, acts without planning, guarded, not punctual, more likely to support marijuana legalization, not prone to compromise, hard to persuade, relies on mind more than on others, calm
Kind of accurate, I suppose, although I really doubt my precision in thought and language.

Architect /INTP thingy as well.

Description doesn't mention loving boobs and naked women, therefore void.

INTJ

"Mastermind". Introverted intellectual with a preference for finding certainty. A builder of systems and the applier of theoretical models.
2.1% of total population.

It is kinda accurate, especially 'the applier of theoretical models', as that's what I do as a scientist/researcher.
But I wouldn't call myself a "Mastermind", for sure.

BTW, if you divide 100 by 16 (all the possible outcome of the test), you end up with 6.25%.
I wonder which would be the largest group, as INTJ and INTP is well below the average from the population.
Though ENFP is above the average.

I would call myself a Mastermind as I have plans for almost everything I do or plan to do.

Going to school, visiting friends,<strike>taking over the world</strike> perusing the local flower shop...

Alsoplusto:

Remember that this is a "Type Indicator", in other words it is not a test - there are no rights or wrongs, so if you want to take something with you from this be honest.

One trait does not exclude an other, it just weighs them against eachother.
If you are labeled introvert you may have extrovert sides too etc.

Remember to think "what would I choose in an unbiased situation - in other words what do I choose when I can freely choose from the two alternatives"

It is easy to get tangled up in experiences and specific situations when answering, or ending up answering the way you want it to be - so again to get anything out of these tests it is important to be honest.

JTI / MBTI etc can, as the OP says, be a very good learning experience and an indication of what types are lacking or needed in teams and work groups.

If nothing else it is a chance to reflect on your own personality and how it may influence your surroundings.

If you have the guts to be honest and the patience to weigh each alternative before you go "clicky-clicky" that is.

56 categories in all... do you think there are only 56 types of people? Of course, traits are stronger and weaker depending on how many percent people get for every point but in this case it doesn't matter if you're 51% introvert and 49% extrovert, or 99/1. The test still treats you the same.

I made a thread on this a long time ago. I'll never forget how half of the people here came out as INTJ when the test said that people of that time make up less than 1% of the US population. Makes you wonder if Fallout appeals to a very tiny personality type obtusely?

I am INTJ...and yes I am obsessed with logic, planning, and ultimately taking over the world. My demeanor here is just learning to appear nice on the outside so no one will suspect.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Admitting Freud as one of the greatest psychologist in the history of mankind is pretty much admitting all you think about is sex.

lol, this is one of the oldest psy tests around, I must've gone through enough of this to be sick from school days.

I am just surprised that nobody here has done this yet.

There has been some debates on these tests. Since, 1. a lot of people lie in testes like this, 2. it does not take family background history into account, 3. personality traits can be easily affected by variety of things, 4. "meaning" for certain things/words can have different "meaning" for different people, etc. Basically, it's not specific enough for proper typing for some.

Got that right.

it's not because people answer it again, that they've never taken it before...

as said above, this was already posted on this very forum a long time ago.
