For me it's either fallout 2 or New Vegas.

Fallout 2 from a game mechanics and unique actions perspective.

Fallout: New Vegas from a writing/ ending variety perspective.

I can't choose this moment so I'll vote later.

It's kind of a close call between New Vegas and Fallout 2 for me. I went with Fallout 2, though. I feel like there were more ways to deal with situations there than in New Vegas. Also, with some character builds you could just forget about some quests and/or areas.

Also, this:
Why was Fallout 1 omitted?

New Vegas taking a lead I see. Is there a vote for best fallout game overall? New Vegas was probably also my favorite fallout game

I've noticed that a lot of people here think NV was the best of the Fallout games. Personally I always felt NV was a bit too in your face about all the choices you could make. Screaming from the top of its lungs how much choice and consequence there was, while in Fallout 2 it felt a lot more organic.

Then again, maybe that's just me, because I've never, ever seen anyone else complain about that.

I think it's because of all the journal updates the game gives you, including all the optional objectives, which often reveal how you can change the outcome of the quest. Fallout 1 and 2 never took the player by the hand like NV did.

That is a pretty valid criticism. Fo1 and 2 were very sly on things and let you fail fairly easily, but NV seemed more risk averse in that department.

I unno.

but I fixed it.:-)

I figured it was probably a mistake, but there was the off chance that you were leaving it out for a specific reason. Cheers!

I do like that there where many chose in Fallout 2 that where not so ovi ect. However FNV employed similar things in some missions. Like the missions where you had to find the legion spie who blows up the monorail. That mission defiantly didn't hold the players hand at all

I found that mission to be pretty easy tbh... Much easier than "the replicated man" quest from fo3. "The replicated man" is the only quest that didn't hold your hand and presented some challenge in all of fo3 iirc.

Some one spoiled the replicated man in fo3 for me. I left the quest for awhile and someone told me all about it, so yeah I can't say that. However I do believe it was't that ovi was different dialogue options. I believe there was another quest similar to those mentions in pardise falls. I didn't as such do the quest probably but it was rescuing the kids from there or something

Fallout: "I need to find a water chip."
Fallout 2: "I need to find a G.E.C.K."
Fallout 3: "I need to find my father."
Fallout 4: "I need to find my son."
Fallout: New Vegas: "Now where is that dumb motherf**ker who shot me in the head?"

new vegas >> Best Post apocalyptic Mailman simulator of decades.

both from originality and unrehashed plot (i'm looking at your wasteland 2, fargo)
