World of Warcraft...now a movie.

since 11 million people play WoW all over the world, and half of them don't left their homes even for a movie about the reason they stay so many time at home, I doubt it'll be a commercial success. Aside from children, WoW fans and fat middle aged geeks living with their mothers, I don't know who would watch this.

Magic missile!

And by the way, how come Uwe Boll isn't directing this movie? This would turn out fucking A with Uwe. :ugly:

Don't know how this movie will turn out, but I'm sure I won't see it. I'm just not a fan of that "high fantasy" stuff, with elves and goblins and crap.

I think its cause the German gouvernement stoped supporting movie projects only cause there German names in it. There was a lot of cricism regarding Uwe Boll geting a lot of financial support from the German gouvernement for his movies even when he did not even filmed those in Germany or when there wasnt even any kind of German company involved in the movie since the support was mainly for exactly that reason so the money finds its way in the German economy and Boll movies almost never have been in any way a financial success.

So dont expect any real projects from Boll anymore since now he is like most usual movie makers dependand on independed investors. And they usualy dont invenst in crap. Thank god.

Aww, that sucks big time.

If it was an animtaed movie like the game's awesome CGI cutscenes, I'd be interested.

If it's just general Warcraft and not WoW, plus sam raimi it could possibly be somewhat good.

Wow. Well Sam Raimi is usually pretty good so I've got some faith in it.

Nah, it would be way better IMHO if they gave the right for filming to Uwe Boll  now that's a filmmaker that I can respect :salute:

The thread name is a bit misleading?

A movie with focus on WoW would not interest me at all but if the focus is on Warcraft then i thinks this can be something good.

Maybe a StarCraft movie after this? :)

I have been wondering for sometime why there are so few animated movies like the ones you have in many games.

Something like this for example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDZ47fvEG9c&feature=related

or this:

Why not make a movie with this kind of style, i would love it.

Is it to expensive or something like that? Cant really see how this can be very expensive tho, when you don't need to pay any actors etc :)

In 2007, he's done some fantasy movie...it was called..."In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale".

God...what a great movie.

Wonder how Sam Raimi can show his take on the fantasy genre.

Maybe he'll make it R rated?

I've always figured that they make a 2 hour Computer animated movie rather than live action. Every since Warcraft 3 I have been clamoring for a 2 hour Warcraft(not wow bullshit) cinematic.

Now all we need is a Diablo movie directed by Tim Burton and I can die a happy man.

Tim Burton would make a kids-friendly cartoon out of Diablo, with goofy demons and shit like that.

I always wanted a Diablo movie because of its awesome atmosphere BUT I really hope Burton doesn't do it. I like him but he'd make it too funky and weird. I'd like it if it were more like 13th Warrior in style.

Maybe even someone like Michael Mann would be a good choice. Before you boo, remember that he made The Last of the Mohicans.

Micheal Mann should stick to modern movies like HEAT. about the only director that has any clue about guns, so keep him in movies with guns, not swords. ;)
