Zero Punctuation video reviews on Escapist Magazine, for those that don't know already. I loved them so much I had to watch all of them even though I have no clue what some of the games are about. It's fun and clever and very effective (I laughed myself to tears watching multiple cartoon representations of Lara Croft fall towards jagged rocks). I love his attitude towards games and gaming - console trash is trash, old Lucasarts games are gold and so on. There are "only" 12 instalments up but it seems there'll be another one every week.

Frith, I'm tired of people talking about this already.

Still, Zero Punctuation is clever, funny and is dead-on in its criticism. I think its reviews of BioShock, Halo 3 and Orange Box have been mentioned here.

Good move by Escapist to get it. Has done its traffic a world of good.

New one every Wednesday!

He hates turn-based combat, too.

Don't see the "console kiddie", though, he's the one that's made the term console tard extra popular.

euhm, because he plays all the games he reviews on consoles?

Really? How'd he manage to do that with Tabula Rasa and Peggle, both PC-only games?
MAGICK!

Pfff. Watched three of them reviews and almost butchered my gerbils in a stress attack. That guy must have ADHD or something, jeez, ... Migraine inducing reviews. Sorry.

Stop... hurting... my... feelings...

:(

I agree that there's some really funny stuff in there, but it's just so hectic. Some morphine would work wonders on this kid.

Seriously.

i obviously meant the crossplatform games... duh.

obviously he's going to play games that are on the pc only on the pc. he has no choice.

but when he does have a choice, he chooses for the console (Bioshock, Manhunt, MOH,...). hell, anyone except the biggest console lover would prefer to play FPS games on the pc due to the ability to aim better and whatnot?

thus: console lover!

Awesome reviews. He made me buy Psychonauts . I don't understand how can people laugh at this, though. I'm always too busy trying to comprehend what he's saying. Silly fast talking heavily accented brit.

I love these videos.

In the console-er debate, I don't think he's a console-lover. Throughout, he rips on j-rpgs and I'd have to watch them all again, but I'm pretty sure he exprsses his computer preference at some point.

As to why he plays everything on consoles, it's probably because of the Escapist. Console = bigger market. So he'll do that instead.

EDIT: Here's relative proof: http://youtube.com/watch?v=jYQLR7dE5k4

When he reviewed fable, BEFORE working for Escapist, he used the PC version :).

"Console Rundown" is the third from the bottom.

There's a also a short animation about his move to Escapist.
