deadlus Fallout 2 map resource

deadlus

First time out of the vault
I finally found my backup CD with what I think are all of my Fallout 2 maps. Anybody is free to use them in whatever way. Just give me credit (as Michał "deadlus" Bielerzewski) and I'd also dig it if you let me know what you are up to.

2018 Download link (includes Fallout Online conversions done by tester123)

Thanks to Zorchar for making me dust up my old PC to find these maps again. Was a nice trip down memory lane!

Hope it gives someone's project a head start.

Others are welcome to share their maps here as well. I'd be cool if someone stickied the thread.

Amazing work! Really hope someone uses these to make a mod, I would love to explore these! I really get that warm fallouty feeling around my heart looking at the screenshots :)

Btw, your signature link is not working.

Solid work with very limited variety of original objects, mostly a bit obsolete; I guess you're not hirable any more...?

Ain't particularly impressed by any of them (I've seen most of them earlier), but experience should be somehow put to use.

I also like the way the "ghouly" map is enlightened, since lights are nothing that people tend to understand after 14 days in mapper...

I'm sorry for your project losses, I wish you have had more hardworking teammates :D

Thanks for kind words, guys.

I forgot that was even there. It was a site I run with a friend of mine like more than a decade ago. It'd later prosper under Jargo until his untimely internet death. Anyone knows if FMC's still around?

I honestly would love to do some maps, but it'd derail me from what I'm working on right now. I won't be done with that until July, at the earliest. I'm the worst multitasker and presently I'd either let you down or abandon my other work.

There are some nice maps there deadlus - I remember those ones for the EPA, I actually worked on some of them for the RP, and never knew who the maker was, I thought the underground levels were great actually.

Nice work. Is there a courtroom there in Lonestar? I mapped out a courtroom in mapper once and it looks pretty similar.

Thanks, .Pixote. I find most of my maps needlessly bloated and I'd probably hate to run back and forth in those. Word of advice to others who might be starting out: save large maps for one-off exploration and scavenging runs, and leave the rest as small and sweet as possible.

Thanks. DarkUnderloard did want a courtroom and I figured a church would be a nice fit. If you are reading this, DU, sorry for bailing on you! Were other FMF maps posted somewhere by chance?

It looks good: I had a quest where the player would end up on trial so I built a courtroom as well, and yours looks similar (yours is better since it has a jury box, which makes it more obvious it's a court - mine was a trial in front of a mayor, so there wasn't a jury). I'm always impressed by seeing different projects and some of their similar ideas and executions developing organically.

As for FMF, a lot of their assets were publicized but I never remember downloading any maps - that doesn't mean they weren't released though.

Sure, just leave the readme with them. I could add a link to the converted files in the first post, too.

Thanks for taking the time to convert my maps for others, tester123! I added a link to them in the first post, but I've also appended your readme with mine own. If you've shared them elsewhere, I'd like to have the original readme included. Thanks again, hope someone finds them useful.

Thanks for the updated links. I didn't have anything in particular in mind apart from wanting to have a better look at the maps; I just thought having a "sticky" thread that's useless didn't make any sense.

The download link in the first post has been updated (thank Zorchar). Hopefully, it will be permanent this time.

Mods, if you deem this resource helpful, consider sticking this thread or kindly include my maps with other FO2 files on NMA. Thanks.

Awesome maps, deadlus. This would definitely help out. Though it would take years, probably, for me to publish them via a mod.

I also second your proposal of making this a permanent thread devoted for fan made maps. Haven't found a dedicated map site anywhere, and having a bunch of pre-made fallout maps to suit your needs can be really time efficient. Plus, they can evolve as more interest is given to them.
