First Impression of Fallout 4

Why dialog wheels are so popular?

Because they're easier to navigate with an analog joystick than a list. Instead of scrolling down to the sixth option, you can just press the stick to the lower-right (or whatever). That's pretty much it, and it's not an excuse to have dialogue choices bound to button presses instead of picking your option with the stick and hitting the action button.

kostjamoscow, friendly suggestion: If you're going to be staying here for awhile be more open-minded and stop relentlessly defending BGS in every thread. :/

Edit: And I know you're going to say "stop hating on BGS in every thread" but just know that most here appreciated Fallout 3 for SOME things that it did and most of us here I guarantee have better reasoning than you do. We look at things that Fallout 4 is doing and we can say with confidence that these things are bad not because of some made up reason in your head but because they ARE bad.

Remember back in the good old days, Where RPG's had focused on writing and story telling, Choices and Consequences and unique perspective from different peoples opinions?

Looks like we have mindless walking simulator now with a really out of touch leveling system. Man, fallout has fallen so hard now. It's like New Vegas was the safety net and Fallout 4 is the chainsaw weakening and eventually collapsing it.

But I mean the system itself is pretty good though if you manage to implement it well, which is pretty hard. Then again, Fallout 4 doesn't have actual factions so it doesn't even matter.

They really got rid of New Vegas's reputation system? Is bethesda insane?

How can they get rid of something they never used? People may like NV's reputation system but it was poorly implemented and pretty weak overall.

Now I know you're ignorant.

I'm sorry but a system that causes people to flip out if you dare wear armor you find around (in a world of scavenging) that doesn't match theirs isn't exactly a great system. You can kill a bunch of NCR soldiers and then do a couple quests and be fine with them. It wasn't great, but yeah I must be ignorant.

Unfortunately you can't save a sinking cruise ship with a safety net :(

Fallout has pretty much now been relegated to just shooting things to 50's music.

Also, don't forget to buy your 25$ MOUSE PAD, Your 70$ Steel Series vault 111 mouse and your 110$ Steel series headset.

MORE MONEY PLEASE.
Don't forget Fallout sex toys. No, i'm being serious right now.

Oh wow SteelSeries actually made Fallout 4 stuff. Doesn't reaaally surprise me as Bethesda have marketed this game to hell and have advertisement almost anywhere they can possibly put it. I'm glad it cost them a lot to market it as I don't think most people will bother to buy it/ don't even care for it (particularly on the streets where I've seen pictures of) and I doubt people will buy peripherals that are designed for pro-gaming with Fallout on them.

The real question on our mind is. "Are you the new fluffer?"

I am back from lunch but it seems The Innerfish already took over in a more direct and detailed fashion. Cool.

It makes sense when you actually put more than 2 seconds of thought into it, if someone is wearing enemy colors while you are actively on a war you will attack them. Also, Reputation had mixed ranks so you couldn't become idolized if you crossed them before and quests with them would close off with bad enough reputation. So yeah, you are kind of saying ignorant stuff.

I mean "you can kill a bunch of NCR soldiers" is pretty vague. I can make an excuse that no one can actually confirm you killed this NCR soldier. The solution to the "causes people to flip out if you dare to wear their enemy armor" is simple, don't wear their armor you dumb idiot.

Now we know you're ignorant!

In New Vegas, unlike Karma, positive and negative reputation are tracked on different axes. So no amount of positive things done for a faction will make them forget about the bad stuff you did to them before. You might just get them to like you enough to like you (if the faction is marked as "forgiving" which not all are). But if you ever hit "Villified" the best you're going to be able to get is "Wild Child."

Also, the thing about faction armor is completely sensible. If there's a war on, don't go around wearing the uniform of the enemy or you might get shot at.

I'm aware how it worked, but you kill a faction's soldiers and they should never be even remotely okay with you after that.

No shit stupid, but if I wanted to wear the particular armor without making it impossible without being okay with being enemies with their enemies, it should've been allowed.

Also the butthurt over daring to not love something in NV is hilarious, it's as bad as the Bethdrones you complain about.

All of those look ugly as shit too, overpriced as fuck and the headphones look like a child's toy. The Vault jumpsuit colors have never looked good anywhere besides on the suits, but since it's related to Fallout people will buy it.

The reputation system needed some improvements I have always said that. But to say it didn't work because you didn't understand the faction armor system is pretty laughable.
