Fallout 1 mod Has anyone played Fallout Fixt with instant invasions?

I'd love to see a Let's Play of this. For those who don't know, in my mod's installer you can set it so all locations are invaded by Super Mutants right when you leave the vault.

On one hand, I haven't implemented inventory removal yet, so this means lots of free stuff via looting the corpses. On the other hand, this means your main (only?) source of leveling-up will be random encounters.

Although I might want to tweak the numbers.... currently with that option, Vault 13 gets invaded in 125 days which isn't very long. Maybe I should set Vault 13 to 500 days for the instant invasions setting?

Sounds interesting enough. I've played Fallout to death, so each playthrough is just more of the same. This would definitely spice things up, even if it offers a pretty unbalanced experience. I might just try this tomorrow. :)

I played it and then went to the boneyard and I got taken to the master I level two and I was forced to join the Unity or die.

lol ouch.

Well someday you'll have the option to play after being dipped. So in that game you could have thereafter decided to go rogue and murder all your fellow Super Mutants.

I always liked the idea of playing after being dipped. Because the game ending when/if dipped is a very linear way of approaching the game: Vault Good, Save Vault.

Besides, there is in fact a Ron Perlman narration for the invasion of Vault 13 by the player. It's pretty cool.

Great! I've always wanted to play as a mutie after being dipped. Thanks for the mod btw. I'm gonna continue and try to beat the full game on hard difficulty with instant invasion mode on.
Edit: I also noticed that whenever I went to the hub with the intent of sneaking past the muties and getting to the corpse of the vendor who held all the books that it was empty.

You should definitely try to record yourself beating the game with instant invasions! That would be excellent. I link to all the finished LPs/playthroughs/etc I can find on YouTube.

If/when you can do that, drop me a line! I would love to post a link to it.

Regarding your edit, I think Stapleton doesn't have any inventory in Fixt until the first map entry, I can take a look though. Maybe the Mutants are anti-books, lol. #MutantNazis

Definitely. I do think that it's fine to have merchants without their inventory. In my opinion it's realistic as it's bound to be looted or destroyed by the invaders. Yeah. I'll record it and post it. I'm gonna beat it without doing it though just so I can develop a strategy and then I'll comeback and record it on my 2nd run.

I might do a LP of this but it would be text and pics with a story.

It seems like a good thing to do in a time when Fallout 4 is tainting the lore.

Stay tuned.

You need to add a way to get Power armor since the Brotherhood of Steel is destroyed whenever you exit the vault.

The game can be finished without Power Armor. I'd take the thread title as some kind of an ultra hard mod so it's totally fine with no PA IMO. Giving player chance to loot a set of Brotherhood Armor (best armor except PA) from a dead BOS knight should be enough I guess.

Should I also add the Autopsy Reports disk onto Vree's corpse? If not, talking the Master into suicide isn't possible.

Do whatever you please. I think power armor should be added, but it shouldn't be easy to get. Maybe have a random dead paladin from a patrol unit in a nearby town.
Also, if you enter the part of junk town that Killian resides in then you will get the XP for killing him.
