Future Plans for Making Fallout 4 Fun

Chud

Still Mildly Glowing
I, not unlike many of you, have found Fallout 4 vastly underwhelming, if not downright mediocre. The game does get a few things right and there's certainly plenty of room for improvement via future Mods and DLC. I personally would be up for a second playthrough should these mods become available: an alternate route as a Raider, complete with building raider settlements; killable NPCs [Your ass is grass, Marcy]; removing all Legendary enemies and gear; and a few tweeks and changes to difficulty and play. I plan to use the DLC and whatever Mods that I can, to build my empire of death and suffering, build an army of skull-faced robots, and shove a certain Minute Man into my Maze-o-Death. Forget the lackluster sidequests, the dull main story--I want to become Boston's supreme warlord.

So, what changes and tweeks will you go for to make this game more enjoyable and fun? Any hopes for mods once the damn GECK finally pops out?

- Alternative start + Voice removal + (complete) Dialogue Overhaul -
These are a must for me personaly. (wouldnt mind some kind of skill reintegration attemt)
And probably buy it on steam sale in a couple of years when all content is released.

I plan to use the DLC and whatever Mods that I can

This could work if/when large quest mods come out. (thinking something like Falaskar for Skyrim or Fist full of caps for New Vegas...)

I'm playing Fallout 4 as a shoot'n'looter so when the modkit arrives and people start producing meatier mods then I'll be getting mods that change combat to make it far more balanced and punishing. Get mods that alter perks so that they aren't so tedious, unbalanced, overpowered and underpowered. I'd get mods that make crafting more flexible. Mods for more weapons and armors. Mods for more creatures. Mods for more encounters. Mods for more reasons to focus on settlement building.

I'd needs mods for so many aspects of the game that I doubt I could be arsed to even get them.

Alternative Start, Voice Removal, Bustier Women(because the girls of the commonwealth have no boobs whatsoever), maybe a Dialogue overall eventually.

Then.. I don't know. It really just depends what stuff I find on Console.

I'll be waiting for the Dust style total overhaul, one that removes the dialogue wheel, adds more options in dialogue, removes the voiced protagonist, removes legendary enemies and, gives me factions and, stories I care about.
Basically I'm going to wait until Obsidian get another go at the franchise.

I'm gonna just wait for New Vegas 2. I'm looking forward to comparing it with Half-Life 3.

I've been doing some tests. Some mods obviously break the game as they are not done properly. Non-essential NPC's is a good example. Having to reload because Preston has been killed by Raiders in the first quest. That mod gives the game a different feel. If you don't protect him he will die and it will limit the quests you can do. Abernathy did fairly well, but Tenpines Bluff always gets owned. It was interesting to see how well these people were set up in game and if they can hold their own. Danse Danse is a pussy and that power armor does little to protect his bad development choice. Replacing many of the paintings with Porn helps from a humor perspective when "Helping" others, it's also funny to see their happiness raise due entirely to the amount of porn they have in their settlements. Fixing the dialogue to be closer in line with the other Fallout games. The interesting thing is that the game is not aware of NPC death like it is in Skyrim. If someone dies by hostiles or other, no one knows. Oddly enough, Killing Codsworth was more rewarding then Killing Preston. I was actually able to play as a murderer. Does this make the game playable or better? Hard to say.

Going through the comments of the RPG Codex review of FO4 I came across this and well, it is what it is.

Alternative start, dialogue wheel removal mod, weapon skins mod to replace the looks of those shitty pipe weapons, real life weapon mods, and any mod with better writing than bethesda (so, all of them).

Story driven total conversion mod that somehow implements skills and resolving problems peacefully? Also making power armor regular armor again that can be found at some high level place. Oh yeah, no levelled enemies in this total conversion mod.

I'd try an alternative start mod and minor item mod (t-shirt-jeans-sneaker outfit, wallet, keychain, shopping list, broken smartphone in inventory on start.)

Or, i will start to explore and document routes capable of vehicular traffic.
