System Shock 3

Just a bunch of combat. System Shock had more to it than just combat. So that's a big red flag right there.

Secondly it looks too pretty and that makes me worried about how much money was sunk into this because if they sunk a shitload of money into this chances are they are going to stray from what made System Shock what it is in favor of a far more streamlined approach. Which is another red flag.

And finally, as to the setting, really? I mean, is this all the series is going to be? New space station, same AI? I think I can predict what SS4 is going to be then, get this: It's a new space station, right? But... Everything has gone to shit and everyone's favorite character SHODAN makes a return!

I'm not trying to be a negative Nancy for the sake of being a negative Nancy, but I've seen far too many sequels fuck everything up. Every future sequel has to prove that they aren't a fuck up to me and this trailer doesn't bode well for it. Doesn't mean I've made up my mind yet that it is in fact going to be trash, but I see literally nothing to be excited about. Just pretty graphics and things dying with a voice overlaid on top by the villain. Never seen that in a trailer before.

The worrisome thing for me is that it appears to take place between the two games instead of after the second. I would gladly get some more info on that.

Now granted, it's been a while since I last played System Shock 2 and while I started SS1 I got distracted with other things and never finished it but, does that make sense with the storyline?

Only thing I can think of for Shodan being active before SS2 is that there were other Shodan processing cores that survived Citadel Station. Seems iffy to me though to make SS3 a mid-quel.

I'll keep an eye out on it but I am mostly ambivalent.

Speaking as someone who played the dumpster fire that was Underworld Ascendant, I really don't have a lot of faith in this project.

Okay...

As someone who hasn't played much SS2, this trailer looks likes its lacking the atmosphere of that game.
It reminds me too much of Doom, which is worrying as System Shock should be closer to Deus Ex.

A third game in a series that has been dormant for more than a decade and it's being made a company that had nothing to do with the first two games. I swear i have seen this before.

Oh no.

just making dumb jokes, don't care much for this game anyway
