No Mutants Allowed

So experimentation can happen regardless of how locked into a genre a developer seems to be.
Mr Fish
Mr Fish
Right, but that's them changing the format for an entry into a main series. People being upset about that is understandable. Lots of us here go upset with Fallout 3. Experimentation into another genre is fine so long as it is a spinoff or a different IP.

Ironically the spin-off they did recently was very much in-line with the main series arcadey combat. As for changing to trun based RPG for Yakuza 7 well... If it's good then it's good you won't get any complaints from me. Besides Yakuza 7 was meant to be a new beginning after 6 ended the kiryu saga

So fans expecting more of the same from a self proposed "new beginning" I dont know what they were expecting.
Mr Fish
Mr Fish
I guess. I don't know enough about Yakuza series to comment any further on it. If the main series reached its natural end then I don't see why it can't continue as something new. I was fine with REvil 7 for that.

Hell, brother, I'd say RE7 was a much needed course correction more than a new direction. Apart from the boss fights, It feels very much old school resident evil once you get past the first hour.

I like controlling human's as if they were tanks though. :V
R.Graves
R.Graves
Unironically I do. And I think there's a type of gameplay with fixed camera + tank controls thats totally valid all on its own.

Witcher 3 biggest weakness was the gameplay, so I am glad Cyberpunk 2077 is going for something much different, and from the looks of it, much more involved and indepth.

Yeah I'd prefer first person for Cyberpunk too. Fantasy games are relatively open and don't necessarily need you to focus on tiny things but in modern or futuristic games there's typically narrower worlds and lots of smaller details that are important to see. Like a button for garage door. It works better in first person than in third person where you'd practically need a neon sign pointing at the button.

I wish you could see your character during regular gameplay tho. Even if it's just an out of combat feature.

This entitled shit is fucking retarded. I hate everytime I hear that word in regards to goddamn video games. People stating they dislike certain aspects of stupid video games are not entitled. They are expressing dislike for something they don't like.
T
TorontoReign
I don't care much about Cyberpunk 2020, but the developer has declined steadily since their first games, so it is logical to assume Cyberpunk will be a candy covered turd that acts like it's filled with gold.
Mr Fish
Mr Fish
It's not the people saying they'd rather have it be third person and so they dislike the first person. It's the ones that are behaving as if CDPR somehow screwed them over. As if they went back on a promise. And as far as I know they didn't.

I see. Those guys are called pussies. Hahaha. I read you though. They sound like kids.

I hope it's good but I learned hope is a problem.
Mr Fish
Mr Fish
I have no strong feelings either way. I just dislike the cult surrounding it and CDPR. It's getting creepy.
T
TorontoReign
Man like I say this whole gaming culture is like that. People idolize the companies that give them the most feelz. Worship them. I'll put it to you this way...if I wasn't already attached to people here, I wouldn't be here.

Jacking off to video game series for your entire life is a waste of a life.

I think the game looks pretty interesting. I am only looking forward to like 4 games from here to may anyway.
