    Obsidian's Project Eternity

No posts since April on Project Eternity guys? Honestly, i'm a bit disapointed by what i've seen of Wasteland 2. There's alot to be revealed to be sure, but it looks awfully .... well, dare i say it - past-gen. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for turn-based - if it's done well. Like Enemy...

What does "War Never Changes" mean to you?

The OP's question is a good one, i think, as it's quite a vague statement and very open to interpretation. 'War. War never changes' To me it's like saying war is humanity's oldest companion and has been with us, and will be with us for a long time. I feel like you could replace the word...

    Guns or Energy Weapons

Well, I play ironman, very hard, jesawyer and I'd go with energy weapons every time because: 1) EW ammo is interchangable. With efficient recycler perk it also becomes almost unlimited with a workbench handy. When going into Zion, for example, you can take 1 good EW (like the LAER, gatling...

    Spear swing attack

I tried to script the explosive-tipped spear, but never could get the game to remove (destroy) the spear on succesful melee hit. It would work just fine when thrown, however. No new animations are needed for this one also!

Whats the backstory of your New Vegas Courier?

My current courier's story is formed as much as possible by the game story, rather than before it. But basicly he's an evil bastard: Before ending up in Goodsprings he was a selfish, authority-hating ordinary guy working as a courier. He loves and respects power above all and will always...

    Rank the DLC's

Yeah that's a good point - it's rare to see religion even acknowledged, let alone explored in video games these days. FO1&2 did well in this respect with the cathedral, hubologists and various religious details. It's Strange FO3 and NV neglected it so much - considering you can be DAMN sure it...

    Rank the DLC's

I thought i'd gravedig this thread and throw in my views on the DLC's now that i'm almost finished playing through them, starting with my favourite ... 1) Old World Blues: 9/10 Overall, excellent -. Really immersive, well-written, atmospheric, challenging, varied, and is, IMO, undoubtedly...

    Lonesome road worst DLC?

Well i'm suprised invincible ED-E didn't piss anyone else off as much as it did me but then for all I know you guys don't play hardcore so of course it wouldn't. Yes - i understand he's an 'essential' character but as you point out there's an obvious solution to that (ummm - don't make him...

    Recommended mod thread

If I had to recommend just one, and only one mod for NV it would be - darker nights. Darker nights improve the atmosphere of the game immeasurably, IMO, without affecting the game purity at all. 'Nevada Skies' would be my choice.

    Less ammo mod

Hey guys. Is there a mod for NV that greatly reduces the amount of ammo available - both from vendors and found as loot?

    Lonesome road worst DLC?

One other thing I hated - no - HATED about LR is invincible ED-E. Did anyone else feel like this amounted to a violation of their gaming rights?!?!?!?! I chose hardcore because i thought it was LAME that your companions should be invincible. And when i say lame i mean really, truly...

When is the best time to start playing DLCs?

I totally agree. I play Very Hard/HC/Jsawyer/Project Nevada also and LR is tough as nails. The couriers Mile is somewhat ridiculous! However, luckily the courier has some OP weapons from other DLC's which make it possible (namely the LAER and exp. rounds with the AM rifle.) Not so sure...

When is the best time to start playing DLCs?

My word of warning about the DLC's would be simple: they're tough - all of them filled with nasty enemies and LOTS of them. Whenever i go back to the Mojave after a DLC it seems like a cakewalk.

    Stealth - Your Opinion

Oooh yes - why oh why didn't they implement such simple but awesome ideas.

    Deathclaw hunting tips

Yeah, i have to agree with Yamu here - you can only blame so much on the engine, and FO2's engine was sketchy to say the least. (though solid for '98 for sure) However, i also agree with Snaps point that NV and FO3 use an engine that was designed to host FPS games, not RPG's. Hence why FO3 is...

What I want to see implimented.

I think the OP touched on the real issue here - it's not so much a question of whether the food/ ammo would have survived, but why the hell large amounts of are just lying around when they would have picked clean decades ago...

    Deathclaw hunting tips

Oh i totally agree snapslav. That's the really frustrating thing - these things are easily fixed so why did they mess it up in the first place?! In fact, your example from this game (which i've never played) provides a possible solution - SS should only 'stagger' the opponent - not knock them...
