    Question Concerning Targeted Shots and the Sniper Perk

    So max Luck if Gifted or Stupid, but not if neither since you wouldn't have enough points to distribute for other skills?

    so what is your recommendation for both targeted shots builds and burst fire builds in terms of Luck?

    Question Concerning Targeted Shots and the Sniper Perk

    so there's really no point to raising Luck above what you need for Better Criticals if you're a sniper who uses targeted shots, but you can go nuts if being a Burst Fire character with Fast Shot?

    Tips For Newbies From a Former Newbie

    Well, that's it. I hope you enjoyed this guide and can now make good characters confidently. Have fun! For those of you who noticed I've been making changes to the previous entries, I've been testing my ideas and keeping written down those that work. Since I've been restarting the game many...

    Tips For Newbies From a Former Newbie

    If you build your character well, he or she will gain many skill points, have reasonable health to survive most encounters, qualify for perks with all the permanent bonus, (even if you have to rely on chems if necessary), have very high carry weight outside of bonuses from perks, and have...

    Tips For Newbies From a Former Newbie

    Remember these tips (which I learned based on my own experience and research): -If you take Gifted, very high Intelligence is required to make up for the lowered skill points. 9 is recommended, no less. Be sure to get the implant. Don't take Gifted if being stupid. Don't take both Gifted and...

    Question Concerning Targeted Shots and the Sniper Perk

    I read this on the Fallout wikia site for the Sniper perk in Fallout 1 and 2: To Sniper characters who are used to hitting their opponents in the eyes, and thus already enjoyed a 60% critical chance for most of their hits, a further increase in the critical hit chance will not necessarily be...

    Specialization

    The key to success in many RPGs is specialization. That is, you build your character around a specific style. In previous Fallout game, there were only two styles: ranged and melee. The only specialization perks in the first two games and Tactics were Bonus Rate of Fire, Sniper, Bonus Ranged...

    Am I Doing Something Wrong?

    For quite some time now, I've been making characters taking Gifted and either Small Frame or Fast Shot, depending on whether or not I want to make targeted shots with my character. I max my Luck with my ranged characters so that every shot becomes critical with Sniper. With Hand to Hand builds...

    Does Anyone Invest In Doctor, Gambling, Barter, Sneak, and Throwing?

    by the level cap of 21 in Fallout 1, I've finished investing in my combat skills, have 100% in both Speech and Lockpick. The last time I played through however, by level 21, I had more than 90 left over skill points. I didn't touch Barter, Gambling, Sneak, Throwing, and Barter. A few times, I...

    Traps and Steal

    I forgot about these two skills in the previous thread and feel that they need to be discussed on whether or not they are useful. The only times I ever used Steal was when I couldn't just take Neil's urn, even though there was no one in the bar at the time, to plant the bug on Gizmo as a good...

    Does Anyone Invest In Doctor, Gambling, Barter, Sneak, and Throwing?

    in Fallout 1, I just use my followers as pack mules as they have unlimited carrying capacity. This way I can loot everything in one location in one visit. Then I can trade it all away for better equipment and skill books. This way, I don't need to invest in gambling for money, or even gamble at all!

    Does Anyone Invest In Doctor, Gambling, Barter, Sneak, and Throwing?

    Typically, I tend to ignore these skills, except for Doctor in the second game. Though I found myself investing in Doctor in the first game since I had nowhere else to spend my points, and in case I need to heal a broken limb. I'm the kind of guy who grinds levels at the Deathclaw Warehouse...

    Iron Fist or Melee Weapons?

    All of my planned builds take all three perks of Iron Fist to increase the damage of unarmed attacks. Since I use unarmed in melee range to deal with weaker opposition to avoid wasting ammo, I feel this would be a good idea. Of course there is also the option of using melee weapons instead of...

    Evil = Kill Everything?

    But wouldn't it be better to give the doll to Curtis? Then you'll have an easier time getting a wrench to give to Valerie.

    Evil = Kill Everything?

    I've decided that there will be two separate evil playthroughs: one for where you don't kill everybody and one where you do. However, in both playthroughs, I'll be holding off on stacking up the evil karma until after I gain access to the Wright Quests or even the GECK in Vault 13. Certain evil...

    Evil = Kill Everything?

    I've read that some people have played the games where they do a 'kill everything run'. As in wiping out entire towns, killing everyone, regardless of whether they are good or bad. Not including the Raiders in the Raider Base in Fallout 2, the only town I've ever wiped out in that game during...

    Does Anyone Use the Gatling Laser?

    well, according to the Fallout wikia, if you have both ranks of Bonus Ranged Damage, tagged Energy Weapons from the start, get Better Criticals, and Sniper with a luck of 10, the weapon can devastate anything since all hits will be critical. Though against the toughest armor, you might need...
