    New Frm Editor

Nice job 8) If anyone else is having 'missing mscoree.dll' -error the problem can be solved by installing Microsoft Framework 1.1 (from Windows Update). Worked atleast on my Win98. Hope that helps.

    Mapper not starting (possible solution)

Haven't been here for awhile, but I do remember that some people had problems with offical mapper not starting at all. Well, I didn't ever counter such problems, but my friend did. When he ran the exe it threw him back to the desktop. Today he said that the mapper works, when he runs...

    Alternative C preprocessor

It was just said that the others might work, and I just checked that those make exactly the same as watcom. No good reason, goodbye.

Start time, and worldmap location. FO2

Best way to have the vaultsuit in the beginning (and starting map and more): http://www.ifrance.com/foloader/foloader.zip

Why am I wearing this Jumpsuit?

When the editor was released someone wrote somewhere, try not to do an another Fallout2, be reasonable, even a short 20min adventure would be welcome. That's what I'm trying to do. Something that one man can do. The future of my project is all about how do I get along with scripting. At the...

    Alternative C preprocessor

If you wish for some reason not to use (Open) Watcom for prepocessing Fallout2 ssl-files you can simply use gcc. I've tested Bloodshed's Dev-C++ (version 4, using mingw) and it works just fine. All you need can be found at http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html (those new v5 betas seem to cause...

Why am I wearing this Jumpsuit?

Some people who are modding fallout2 (including me) might run into a difficult storyline problem: in case your story doesn't tell about the vault dweller (or The Chosen One or something like that), why the heck the PC is wearing a Vault Jumpsuit? So, any ideas? My thought is that it could be...

    Patches for Fallout 2

I've always thought that the "screenshot" was from pre-war time and was never ment to be in the game. It was clearly made with the game engine, but after a quick search I never find any piece of that house from the resources... :(

Change Date/Time In-Game. Remove the 13-Year Time Limit

I had great time last night and I managed to produce this piece of document. It might be all wrong and everything could be just messed up, it's far away from being finished and... http://koti.mbnet.fi/platonjr/offsets.txt Reducing time of sleep makes wonders.

    Custom music

Just for curiosity, are there two ACM formats in Fallouts? I mean when I listen the musics with my WinAmp (with plugin) everything is ok, but when I listen e.g. narrator speaks voice comes out with too high speed...

Change Date/Time In-Game. Remove the 13-Year Time Limit

One more thing: there are GotoXY and SetXY scripting commands in one of the unoffical compilers. They could be there to set Worldmap position (hope so, otherwise I'd look stupid). I have a some sort of strange feeling that this conversation has gone a bit off-topic...

Change Date/Time In-Game. Remove the 13-Year Time Limit

Yes you're right that artemple is hard coded as a starting map. When I changed the mention of artemple.map in fallout2.exe to sftanker.map starting place changed as well. But when I left the San Fran to worldmap the game didn't teleport me to Arroyo. I was able to continue from San Francisco...

Change Date/Time In-Game. Remove the 13-Year Time Limit

To ColJack: Could you inform me more about that starting place problem, just to see if it's worth of putting time in. Did you replace Arroyo with your starting town (game might check the first in the list). Is there any scripting command to move PC in the world map? That's how you could simply...

Change Date/Time In-Game. Remove the 13-Year Time Limit

About that "13 year limit", it can be very simply removed (I managed to track down bytes that affect the checking somehow), but it still have some major problems. As some of you know Fallout2 uses ticks as it's basic time units (10 ticks=1 second etc.). Well when the game starts In 2241 the 4...

Change Date/Time In-Game. Remove the 13-Year Time Limit

Nope :D . But anyway, I wouldn't be a perfectionist if I left everything half way, so: mapper2.exe: 000bd84c Now that should be all. So tell me, how could anyone play (even) Fallout2 for 13 game years?

Change Date/Time In-Game. Remove the 13-Year Time Limit

( Just to continue the monologue: ) Offsets should be: Fallout2 (U.S.): 0009376c Fallout2 (U.K.): 0009351c Fallout1: 00081e2c Fallout1 Demo: 0005c42c (Really don't know about these, those are just what my Hex Workshop says) If it's any use, the bytes come always after word 8db0. (I...

Change Date/Time In-Game. Remove the 13-Year Time Limit

I have to admit that I was a bit too impatient  I've located the current bytes from the fallout2.exe that contained the starting year..., now it would be nice if some programmer (shouldn't be too difficult  ) would make a nice application to change these bytes... The offset is...

Change Date/Time In-Game. Remove the 13-Year Time Limit

My question is a simple one: Is there a method to set the Fallout2 starting year a few years back? I mean that it's not nice to make a mod that takes place even before FO1 and the pipboy clock shows all wrong... Of course I can always explain that the pipboy is broken (disconnected wires...

    Patches for Fallout 2

You probably have already figured out some smart way with capturing screenshots from FALLOUTmovies, but I say this anyway: I would use MVE2Avi v2.3 (founded here in NMA) with parameter -nosave (unless you want some large AVIs). Then just use PrintScrn. This way you don't have to go to the game...
