    Fallout 3 : A succesful re-branding

Lol yes we are. But yes I like FO3 too, heh. Thats the one thing about owning a 360, we get all these great games first but they are always rushed to the shelves. Its as if Microsoft wants the product super quick...hmmm...

Would you have accepted it as a Spin-Off?

Decent Half Life sequel? I don't get what that even means. To compare Fallout to Half Life is pretty lame man. The Half Life franchise is nothing like the games Bethesda makes. So lets not get silly here...please. The only thing they have in common is guns and a FP view. The fact that you're...

    Fallout 3 : A succesful re-branding

PC version came out after the console version. IE they had more time after the initial launch.

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

What game has good graphics in your opinion? I'd like to see what you're playing that makes you feel as if Fallout 3 is some sort of ugly inbred yokel.

    Fallout 3 : A succesful re-branding

Mass Effect suffered a lot of problems as well you know... slow down (console wise, played it on 360), an often broken fighting system and various bugs/crashing. It needed more time in development just as FO3 could've used more time. Bethesda sticks by their products though, which is what I...

Imagination - The cornerstone of Fallout's Universe.

Nah I'm not going to "slam" you or anything. I just feel as if a lot of this non-RPG stuff is comparing the game closely to the previous Fallouts. Which is certainly warranted. However this is a different developer and they have proven in the past to create a well rounded RPG. Its not on the...

    Fallout 3 : A succesful re-branding

Yeah for sure Outlaw. They tend to get way out of control on the size of their projects and it tends to look sterile when its finished. Todd Howard has even admitted to starting the game (Fallout) out as a small piece but it kept getting bigger and bigger. Same sort of deal happened with...

Imagination - The cornerstone of Fallout's Universe.

Nah. Bioshock was a very well done FPS that had a decent system of weapon and power management. There were no interactions with NPCs (only the basic two way radio transmissions and etc) or world to explore or ways to choose different routes, aside from the good or bad ending... Fallout 3...

    Gripes about the writing

I found Fable 2 to be pretty hard to swallow writing wise. If I had to choose between Fable 2 or Fallout 3 I'd choose Fallout 3. Fable had some serious issues that made it hard to stomach...but this is all just my view. Oblivion would be a more well rounded RPG but Fallout 3 goes beyond that...

Imagination - The cornerstone of Fallout's Universe.

I have read them... Regardless, even if you see it as "dumbed down" it is still an RPG. In your view it'd be a "dumbed down" RPG. But still an RPG. To call it a strict FPS is simply ignorant. Thats what I'm arguing.

    Fallout 3 : A succesful re-branding

Nah I disagree. I felt Oblivion was decent but then The Shiver Isles expansion blew me away. They have it in them, if you look at that expansion. They have the ability to turn over a well known idea and make it vibrant. Wait to see what happens with Fallout 3... Thats all we can do.

    But was the spirit preserved?

I thought it did... it may have been a different spirit but I felt the world of DC was convincing at times, in its own way. There are a lot worse out there, like many other sandbox games. Fable 2 even, for example, I felt was less convicning than Fallout 3...

    Fallout 3 : A succesful re-branding

That bad eh? Sorry to hear that Public. Maybe Fallout 4 will make you happier someday... Or just go play the first two again and again. Seems the world is moving on though.

    Fallout 3 : A succesful re-branding

Yeah if you want lame, play spore for an hour, you'll love Fallout 3 afterwards. I agree though. The amount of detail in DC is amazing, I found. I don't get it...I suppose, is what it comes down to...

Imagination - The cornerstone of Fallout's Universe.

The stats, regardless of what you think, do effect your gameplay to some degree, they aren't just sprinkles on the cake. I don't understand how character creation doesn't "do much" but whatever... You create a character, you name him/her. You build him the way you like it. You choose...

    Fallout 3 : A succesful re-branding

Lol, you play it yet you hated everything about it, it seems. Interesting. I think what was meant by rebranding or at least what I see as rebranding is that fact that they changed the way you play Fallout. The fact Bethesda used the TES engine has nothing to do with the rebranding. In fact...

Imagination - The cornerstone of Fallout's Universe.

Sure I'll go with action RPG too. As long as RPG is in the statement then yeah. But to call it a strict FPS is just silly.

Imagination - The cornerstone of Fallout's Universe.

Yeah, I see it kind of the same way as Chaos. Fallout 3 is an RPG, I never said it was a great RPG or that it did anything extremely well. But it is an RPG. How is that proving me wrong? There are ways to play the game differently. Its broad in a sense of the different paths you can...
