Ok, so this may be an entirely stupid question, but here it goes:

On the display settings for my 8800 GTS it tells me that my "Total Available Graphics Memory" is 895, but my "Dedicated Video Memory" is 640. What does this mean? I'm not worrying that I'm being gipped by Nvidia (well, not worrying too much), but what does that mean?

You must be running Vista?

How are your games playing? I have a copy of 32 Bit Home Premium but it never ran my games that well on my 7800GT so I went back to XP Pro.

I really want a 8800 GTS :(

I'm loving Vista, honestly. Almost all the games I've tried run on it just as well as they would on XP. I've run Far Cry, Quake 4 The Godfather, FEAR, Sims 2 (which would actually not run at all on my XP rig...), Star Wars Battlefront 2, Grand Theft Auto 3, Black & White, Ghost Recon Rainbow Six Vegas, Splinter Cell Double Agent and Fable: Lost Chapters. Games I've tried which did not work are Kotor II (which hardly ran on XP anyway) and Freedom Force (which is like 4 years old.)
Splinter Cell took a little bit of messing with at first, but it now runs very well, and Rainbow Six does occasionally crash, though not very often (though it crashed in the middle of multiplayer match this morning, right as I was about to get a brilliant headshot...)

I'm also running all of these games maxed out, with a 1680X1050 resolution, and an Intel Core 2 Duo 6400 and 1 gig of RAM. I'm getting spectacular frame rates in all of them, and it's really beautiful.
