A couple questions...

Sarin

First time out of the vault
So I finally got FT, and after some poking, I'm curious about a few things...

Outdoorsman skill, is the highest value in party used or is the leader's value used? I don't know if I should load Farsight with Scout Handbooks or keep them for myself.

I managed to find a map containing places of special encounters, but every such tile I ran into so far spawns multiple such encounters. I had up to three different special encounters on one tile. Is that normal or something went wacky in my game?

And finally, fusion cola. Are the stat increases permanent?

1) Leader's value is used, all others are ignored
2) Such map only shows MOST PROBABLE spots of those SE, but game engine behaves really weird. Already discovered SE somehow increases chance to find another one in same tile. Also when you discover ALL special encounters, next succesful SE check may (or even should) crash your game.
3) AFAIR, yes.

Thank you. So...looks like restart again, I'll probably be making a character for fusion-cola use :D.

Edit: nope. Doesn't work that way. I went and gave a shot at finding it in my previous save (where I already have hummer), and after few days it wore off.

Hmm... that strange what you says about the Outdoorsman skill...
I always give those books to Farsight to increase it to 100% and then I can always decide if I want to enter random encounter or not. (My main character don't spend a point on that skill).

Aaand...I ran into a little trouble. Is there any console cheat or something that would allow me to move either object (nuke carrier) or corpse? In the last mission I killed Behemoth on a bad spot and its wreck is now blocking the only route for nuke carrier.

this outdoorsman skill being of absolutely no use on recruits is simply outrageous.
can we find some confirmation about this? i hope twoeyedyum is wrong about this...

this kind of bugs can cause very much frustration. you spend skill points and books on other recruits and the game gets broken.

they should have had some of the recruits having only two tags. Ice, for example has outdoorsman tagged and at a quite high value.

can we find an alternative manual specifying every unresolved 'bug'?

TwoEyedYum is correct, I am collecting information on every bug in Tactics, it will be published on my website, RobCo's Database when its completed,
a rough guess on how far i am; 33%.

the fusion cola thing should be the main reward for having CH higher than 4. minimum 5. so it makes sense to have both divine favour and fusion cola.

it's nice to play the game with that alternative in mind. well, if i develop the character so that it doesn't inflict damage from long range because of poor skills in guns then... there's fusion cola! just level up grinding in the desert after getting fusion cola in the inventory and then: BOOM!.

low CH characters (CH:2) should get the Loner perk early on and forget about the chance of getting a fusion cola. if they get it they should not drink it because CH can't be lower than 1 so death should occur. a bit frustrating, right? that's the idea.

it's quite frustrating that outdoorsman does not do anything if recruits have it high. they should at least have made those few recruits to have only two perks instead of three (the third being a trap for you: outdoorsman).

after some playing around i noticed that if Ice or Farsight are around then i get to choose and reject most of the encounters.

so, outdoorsman skill works on recruits but i'm not yet clarified on how scout, explorer, ranger perks work on affecting SE rate (if it matters or not which recruits have those, for example rebecca has lower outdoorsman skill but has the scout perk).
