A little help please

First time out of the vault
So I am trying to find some decent weapons as I keep getting killed by the Ceaser Legion assassins, I have unlocked many places yet and I am still quite a low level, ere can I get some decent weapons from to kill these assassins.

Any help will be really appreciated.

I like That gun, havn't found it yet I ill go and look for it, sorry my stats are Level 6 I am neautral and an adventurer, is there any other stats I need to add, this game is all new to me.

I think I've seen That Gun for sale in the dinosaur store in Novac a few times.

EDIT: Nevermind, the wiki clearly says so. D'oh!

Ironically Novac is were I am trying to get too but keep getting my *** kicked by the assassins lol, but I am going to try a different route.

Edit: Nevermind you can only get there by 1 route by the looks of it
 
Just don't make enemies with the Legion early in the game. If you do, stay away from the right side of the highway running from Searchlight to New Vegas. Also, if you're feeling up to it, try killing a few Super Mutants at Black Mountain to get a Carbine or Hunting rifle or go to Hidden Valley where they let you buy their medium-high level equipment for gaining their trust.

I am good to go now, I managed to get that gun, also I went upto black mountain and managed to find a nice gun called Annabelle, I won't say to much incase people haven't done the quest and don't want to spoil it.

Thanks for the help though guys, I really appreciate it.
