A post-apocalyptic Far Cry?

Why does it always have to be nukes?

Why not eldrich abominations?
Why not surprise ice age?
Why not meteorite with alien disease wiping out nearly all life on earth?
Why not super tsunami?
Hell, why not waterworld?

I guess we'll get more details on it tomorrow but I doubt they'll do anything interesting with it.
I'm thinking Rage 1 merged with Far Cry's map design.

Far Cry at the hands of Ubi is kinda like Fallout at the hands of Beth. They both bought someoneelse's IP and will keep milking it until it completely dries out.

Ubisoft is way worse when it comes to milking the IP though.
Aren't Far Cry games like a yearly release at this point?
 
I only played 1 and 3. 1 I enjoyed until I got to the part where the games crashes. And 3 I tried, enjoyed, and once I got done with it I felt like I had gotten my fill and never wanted this again.
 
The first one was a gorgeous looking game at the time. I vaguely recall some frustration about enemies shooting through tents without seeing you (fixed by a patch later on) and some annoying mutant creatures, but don't remember all that much, as I've only finished it once and have never played it again. Not a type of game I'm interested in.
 
I don't care if far cry goes apocalyptic or not. It is just going to the same copy and paste mediocre open world game.
 
Is it going to be a sequel to Far Cry 5?
Anyway, still better than Fallout 76.

I grow tired of apocalyptic settings being used as little more than some aesthetics and the excuse to have to enemies scream crazy shit because everyone that is bad in the wastelands just yells absurd shit at everyone.

Oh well, I don't care about Far Cry anyway and still won't. I agree with Mr. Fish, why don't we see other catalysts to the apocalypse? It's always nukes or some sort of zombie-esque nightmare.
 
So this confuses me. FC5 ended with nuclear war, yet supposedly Far Cry takes place in the Assassin's Creed universe. I haven't played or even really looked at Odyssey but was there any "nuclear war" predictions in it's present day setting?
 
I don't mind the Nukes and I don't mind Far Cry but they need to be done in a new way.

(I also want a proper Far Cry 2 remake).

I don't see anything interesting here. 4 was better than 3, and then we got Primal, but then we got 5 and now this? Meh.
 
In general I would not mind another PA game that is not Fallout or Wasteland (okay there is Atom and Underrail) and I also do not mind another nuclear apocalypse even if it is rather played out.
But from the cover of this game I already know that I am not going to like this game plus I do not want Uplay on my computer. (that is preventing me from playing Far Cry Blood Dragon)

The only Far Cry game I have ever played was the first and I thought that was okay but I was not overwhelmed by it. I also did not think that Crysis was that much more interesting.
