Agreement and Confusion; The new state of mind

First time out of the vault
This is my first post so you can assume I'm new here. And I'll let you all know straight up that Fallout: Tactics would rate as one of my all time favorites, AND I own an xbox.

So you can imagine how I felt, upon first hearing that my favorite game was making it in some form to my 80cm screen. All the dark quirkiness there in minute detail, waiting for me to dive in a be a part of .But after reading all this I'm not so sure. Whats this shit frum 'Chucky"about Fallout:Tactics players wanting to talk. When I play multiplayer its every character on the map firing its bigest gun ALL THE TIME. If scenery could be destroyed then we would be creating sports fields!

I would have assumed that by zooming in and focusing on 1-3 characters they could make an excelent RPG. And pick out some excelent details of the Fallout setting, heighten the adventure, and feel of desparation. But instead we get a few bland obsevations about how its going to be, action, action, action, Do these guys have any idea of how many quality 1st and 3rd person shooters are available for consoles. I'm afraid it will get lost as just another shooter but with a quirky look, and if its done badly (as chuck is prone to do ) then it will get lost to never be found again. Mabe it will only live on as a black mark to the Fallout franchise, uhhh what a waste.

We'll thanks guys. Though I won't pass final judgment till I've seen more, I don't think I'll be on the edge my seat anymore

So... What are you saying?

Generally Fallout Tactics isn't regarded very highly around these parts.

(PS though i agree with you, the game was good)

The sixth round of GATT multilateral trade negotiations, held from 1963 to 1967. It was named after U.S. President John F. Kennedy in recognition of his support for the reformulation of the United States trade agenda, which resulted in the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. This Act gave the President the widest-ever negotiating authority.
As the Dillon Round went through the laborious process of item-by-item tariff negotiations, it became clear, long before the Round ended, that a more comprehensive approach was needed to deal with the emerging challenges resulting from the formation of the European Economic Community (EEC) and EFTA, as well as Europe's re-emergence as a significant international trader more generally.
Japan's high economic growth rate portended the major role it would play later as an exporter, but the focal point of the Kennedy Round always was the United States-EEC relationship. Indeed, there was an influential American view that saw what became the Kennedy Round as the start of a transatlantic partnership that might ultimately lead to a transatlantic economic community.

Actually FOT isn't that bad, but when it's called Fallout Tactics it should have followed the story in Fallout 1 a little more and stayed true to the setting.

But the sad thing about FOT is that compared to games released earlier, like JA 2, it's really bad. There are features in JA 2 that is much, much better then how FOT was made. And there's the sad fact that the makers of FOT said this title wasn't all that.. go figure.

I actually started playing Jagged Alliance after playing FOT, from reading about JA2 here. It kind of did FOT in for me, cause FOT just wasn't that good compared to JA.

I had only gotten F1 + 2 shortly before FOT came out, so the setting inconsistencies in tactics didn't bother me that bad at the time - what did bother me was that like many people, I'm sure, I didn't know what I was getting into. I bought it because it was a new Fallout - only it was Fallout as if you weren't ever able to exit from combat mode and had to play the entire game at an excruciatingly slow pace. I got bored with it pretty quickly. After playing JA2, it just went further downhill in my opinion.

I can play it now and say it's an ok game, but I can't help but feel it would've been better if it had just been created as an original. Of course, I never would've bought it if it didn't have "Fallout" on it, but that kind of marketing only works once, if at all. So, if a 3D Gauntlet game with a Fallout skin appeals to you, by all means get BoS - just don't expect it to be anything more than that, or even close to the top dog in its genre.
