It's not the best game of all time.

The gameplay is too wonky for that.

But goddamn it's close. One of the biggest influences on my writing by a video game and I combined Fallout with Cthulhu for some of my novels.

Anyone else love this game?

If so, say so and why.

I really enjoyed how it played on my first play through. But when I tried to play it again later, the gameplay somehow felt changed and I never got that same feel back. It was mostly about how the controls and character behavior felt. I'm not sure if it was due to a patch or something else, but it was a super weird feeling. I really should give it another try, I guess.

It really is THE game you want to play if you want to see how a game might be different based on your choices. The game is framed in tiny little boxes so that there's multiple endings to each encounter and even the order you take them has a serious effect on things. I'm not sure you could do it today but the sheer variety of replay value from it is amazing.

Plus, I actually loved the plot, love interests, and intrigue.

My favorite Obsidian game along with New Vegas.
