Any decent new single player shooters for PC?

I've realized that I'm in mood for some good shooter. First person or third person, though I would prefer the former, but the latter is hardly an issue.
It's been years since I actually played a decent game. Most of the stuff I'm seeing are multiplayer free-to-play games. Some of them seem good, but I'd like to play something that also has a good single player mode. I'm a sucker for single player, never was much into MP. I know most shooters are MP-focused, but there's gotta be something that fits the bill.

As far as other preferences go, I'd prefer if it was something original and not just another CoD or whatever. I've had it with linear, autoheal, "cinematic experience" type of shit. There's the other thing tho - I'd like it to be something new. I have played many (if not most) of older and old school shooters, and I'm not in mood for replaying any of those at the moment.
Gimme something raw and fresh.

With Steam sale just around the corner, you got some recommendations?
So far the only thing I have planned is Bioshock Infinite (played the previous two games)...and that's about it. I have no other idea.

Metro series, Half-life series, Duke Nukem series, Deus Ex series, Blood series, Shadow Warrior series, Redneck Rampage. Strife, Bioshock, and Syndicate look good but didn't play them much. Hard Reset have nice cyberpunk atmosphere but very basic plot and gameplay.

Depends on what new means. But if you haven't played em i would suggest
Metro 2033 + Last light
F.E.A.R 1-2
Any Deus ex you have missed.
The new Doom is apperantly really good. Haven't tried it myself. I did like Doom 3 aswell.
RAGE was quite fun.

Will mods also qualify for what you are looking for?

Well I would like to recommend Wolfenstein Blade of Agony then, it is a project still in progress but chapter 2 came out recently and this game should definitely keep you occupied for a few hours.
It uses the old assets of Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny along with some new ones made by the development but the game is heavily inspired by Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

There are some "cinematics" but that is more to give you missions and update the storyline, nothing on the level of modern cinematic driven FPS games.

If you like FPS with cartoon characters I would also recommend Shadow of the Wool Ball and Rise of the Wool Ball

The developer used MSpaint to design all of the graphics and textures.

Thank you, men. I've looked over the things you've posted, and some of the stuff I really like. This will be sufficient.

Better yet, get the Single Player "Hell on Earth" starters pack that comes with Brutal Doom as well.
Basically Doom 1 and 2 meet the world design of Half Life

True.

Then again, now that you remind me, ID software is on my shitlist now as its owned by Bethesda.

So pirate Doom 1-2 or something.

Wolfenstein The New Order was pretty good, if you hadn't played that. Same for the new DOOM.
If you're up for some multiplayer, Overwatch is pretty fun.

Also, Bioshock Infinite is a bit of a turd.

You don't need to buy Doom to run Brutal Doom, just use Freedoom.
It's inside the brutal doom starter pack.

It might take some tweaking to get right, and it's not so much a "new" game, but have you ever tried out Call of Chernobyl? For what it is, it's pretty fun. Just take everything S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and put it into one game. It's everything that Freeplay offered in the series, just with every single area from every single game as well as some cut areas. Pick a faction, and then be a member of that faction. So, for instance, I played as a Merc who started in the Dead City and had to sneak my way through the zone to eventually reach the Cordon so that I could put a bullet into some rookie's face because that's what the first job I got was. Dodging Duty, Freedom, and random Loners along the way.
