Any games like Fallout that's modern?

Like set in modern times or futuristic times with close to the same combat mechanics in Fallout?

Not sure if it matches criteria, but Underrail is a good game, with a nice "Fallout feeling".

Does Stasis have some of the same gameplay mechanics as Fallout like aimed shots or criticals?

You're not keen on doing your own research, are you? If you just did the google search I linked you, and watched ANY of the Let's Play videos of the game, you'd see that the answer is "almost assuredly no". It's no RPG, it's an Adventure game. But the atmosphere and perspective are somewhat comparable, thus why it was originally suggested.

I'm personally waiting on the release of After Reset RPG, which is still in development and is designed with Fallout 1 / 2 as it's inspiration, including other oldschool RPGs as well. But from setting to mechanics to perspective, it's almost identical to Fallout, just new, not from 20 years ago. However, it's set in the future- NOT a retro-future, but a sci-fi future, and the apocalypse wasn't nuclear. So if being set in modern times is a really important quality for you, then apart from the game not even being out yet, I guess it still wouldn't fit the bill, for being set in the future, not present.

okay. Yeah I'm kinda lazy on doing research. Yeah After Reset, I'm hyped for it.

Well, at least you're man (or woman?) enough to admit it. Too few people here are willing to employ such integrity. Got nothing on that, now. XD

Anyway, yeah, me too. Not too keen for its pseudo-episodic releases, but whatever. If it's a necessity to get it into my grubby paws sooner, I guess I can deal with that? Just gonna be agony waiting for each new "chapter" if I finish everything there is to do in the last... which hopefully won't be easy. Hopefully...

I'm a dude. But yeah, I'm like that cat who's sitting there on the couch watching tv eating cheetos and too lazy to grab the remote so I just get a grabber and pick it up and change the channel.

He means "set at about nowadays, not the future, not the romanticized past" roughly. Like how Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was set in modern day, versus double u double u two all over again. It was a considerable change of pace.
