You've installed the patch incorrectly and are getting 1.0 bugs. Check the readme for instructions.
 
Thx dude. You were right about this. I just remember that i used B version previously and everything worked fine, so I installed it again this time. But the A version is the proper one. Thx again.


In "corrections" there stands: "Fixed Cassidy and Marcus from forgetting combat settings. (NOT FULLY CONFIRMED)"

Don't know about Marcus but Cassidy keeps forgetting his settings.
 
Fire Geckos in The Toxic Waste encounter still have Sam Pritchard's Map on their corpse as opposed to the fire gecko skin. All Fire Geckos in random encounters are fine.

Ok. Means I will have to recompile the specific script for those geckos.

II just finished game and everything is working perfectly. Only few major bugs is still present and because my lousy English I will be short.

-Raider base is still visible.
-Fire gecko’s and Sam Pritchard's Map. Game sometime crashes in that special encounter.
-Its still possible to get stuck in ring in San Francisco.
-I cannot get copy of Vertibird plans from Hubologists.

P.S. Is it possible to use B-team NPC mod with your patch? I see that you are modified same files as they are.

Oh, perhaps I need to alter the change log. I actually changed the Base back to being visible. Too many complaints, etc. Plus it was originally visible anyway.

As in Fire gecko's in the toxic waste dump are showing a map rather than pelts? Noted and will be fixed in the upcoming release.

Only if you use the modified version I released. It can be found several pages back. I should probably add it to my sig or something.. (along with a link to my patch)
 
Renesco's Behaviour

hello guys,

killap, i have a frustrating problem with Renesco in new reno, hope you can help:

it isn't possible to enter conversation with him after pissing him off. he just remains in his floating text mode. this happened to me after i got the air purifier from him and since Per states in his FO2 guide that this shouldn't be permanent , i suppose that this has something to do with the unofficial patch.
neither i cant question him about the empty jet canister from the writes boy nor about his debt to the Salvatores. Boosting my stats or advacing the time didn't help either.

The reactor of Gecko was destroyed. All critters disappear of the map days later. But the lights of the houses continue on. It is possible turn them off to leave the map dark and abandoning?

Looks like the bis team have forgot this.

Hmm...I am not sure whether this would be easy to do. Light sources are actually placed manually in the game so I would have to somehow find a way to remove them from the map. I do have an idea how this would be done, so I shall consider this.
 
Sorry for not replaying but I was away few days.

Unfortunately I deleted all saves. Now I will start new game and send you all saves with bugs I encountered.

- Your modified version of B-team mod works great and I think there is no need to work on that anymore.

- By Fire Geckos and Sam Pritchard's Map I vas pointing to same bug as RyanFialcowitz. The Toxic Waste encounter.

- This is the way I was trying to get copy of Vertibird plans from Hubologists (from Jeramiah Duran Walkthrough):

First, go talk to mark at the brotherhood hes in the bottom left corner right
when you get to San Fran, he will ask you to go to navarro and get the plans.
Next go to the Shi's they will ask for the plans in order to see the Emperor.
Then go to the Hubologists and they will have you join their cult, if you did
not get the zeta scan they will give you one here in order to join. As you
leave talk to the scientist and he will ask you to get the plans. Make sure to
talk to the the Mechanic next to him. He will talk about the "Actors" Juan Cruz
and Vikki Goldman in the hub center. Go in and talk to viki, point out that the
guy likes her and she will tell you she likes him but because of Juan she can't
act on this. Now go to navarro and get the plans, go back to San Fran and Give
them to Mark, he will make a copy for you. Next go back to the Hubs and give
them the plans. Talk to the Mechanic and tell him Viki likes him and ask him to
give you the plans back.

I don’t have that dialogue option and I am pretty sure that I finished that quest last time I was playing.

- I have UK version of the game and your EXE works fine. You may add in readme that is fully compatible with UK version.

Thanks again for great work. It’s a whole new experience playing game with your patch.

Are you planning to update the sources of the scripts ? It could be useful for people working on localised version of Fallout that want to integrate you work.
 
Hey Killap, I'm messing around with trying to get Mack the Knife's old mod working with yours. I've cleaned it up a bit myself, but there seems to be a conflict with the "pro_item" file somewhere.... any suggestions?

I've been like adding things from your file to the Mack file, which are missing, but that doesn't seem to be it... still working at it. Does it have to do with the size of the file? I remember I got this working rather well before with your patch. I play Fallout 2 every year... trying for a new experience once again.

Edit: Just wanna throw in that the game starts and plays right with the original pro_item file. All the item modifications are there and working. I just need that fluff to get working.

EDIT EDIT: Holy crap, I found the error. It was one damn "}" at line 11601. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.

BTW, hey, do you know how to edit the default melee damage and costs for the hero?

Here are some more inconsistentcies that i experienced in the unofficially patched version and that did't occur in the 1.02e version.

1) the BoS associates in the Den and NCR did't answer me a single question. (IN=10, Speech=100%)

2) I did't get the cutscene where Mark of BoS in SF gets killed by the Enclave soldiers. After getting the enhancements in the basement, Mark was still there. But after leaving town and coming back some time later, he just disappeared and i wasn't able to find out why. There was no recording in the computer or whatever.

3) I'm at level 37 by now, wasn't in the enclave yet but there isn't any vidicator minigun anywhere to find. (intentional?)

I'm planning to play Fallout 2 once again, but please tell what mods do i need to install and in what order??? This game is brilliant, but it aged a bit, and it was buggy. How to play it in higher resolution, and with fixed bugs. (and everything else to make the most out of this game). I have 1.02 uk version.

You don't need to install any mods. The patch to fix bugs can be found in this thread. I'll go update the links in the first post so you can find them easier. As for resolution, this is the thread. Next time, try searching a little.

i found everything on my own, the problem is the order of install. (first patch, and resolution fix, or the other way). Besides there are two bug fixes (Fallout 2 unofficial v1.05 patch (ENG) and Killap's Patch release Final A which is better??). ow and links in resolution threat don't work:/
 
personally i would advise you to install killap's patch. the other one tinkers too much with the mechanics and balancing of the game and judging by the release notes of each release the makers didn't seem to know what they were doing.

You should definitely go with killap's patch, not 1.05 (you can only use one). I think the resolution mod only changes the exe file, and killap's patch only swaps out the exe if you want the encounter frequency adjustment. To be on the safe side, apply the resolution exe last (assuming you find it). I can't seem to find it in the files section, perhaps because it was never quite finished.
 
Hi. Very good work(Killap's patch I mean). If you're willing to fix random grammatical errors, I've spotted some and could write them here.

I also noticed that the boxing fans sometimes give you an "Error" message when you speak to them. Some other messages have a "!" before the actual text. I had a female Prizefighter at the moment if that helps.
 
All righty i know almost everything. Main problem is that I started playing with 1.05 patch (i could not connect to this site for two days, and i had only downloaded 1.05 patch, so i installed it:/). But can i play with killap's patch??? I will have to unistall the game, apply official patch, killap's patch, but the question is, will my saves work from playing with 1.05 patch??

PS. Resolution mod isn't that compulsory as I though. Fallout 2 was published ages ago, has shitty 2d graphic with pixels of a size of brahmin goo, but it doesn't matter. How is that possible?
