Applying no-cd patch on Windows 8

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I'm having trouble installing the no-cd patch for Fallout Tactics on my Windows 8 laptop. I have updated to version 1.27, but when I attempt to run the no-cd patch, I get a very brief window reading "Cannot find BOS.exe!", even though it's right there in the folder.

In addition, attempting to run Fallout Tactics gives me the "please insert CD" message even if the game's DVD is in the drive. This is strange as it installed off that drive with no problems at all.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Not a clew, try:

Right clicking on the BOS.exe in C:/Program Files/Interplay or wherever you installed it.

Click on "Troubleshoot compatibility".

And click on "Try recommended settings" and if it doesn't play I will personally send you all the files you need to play without the CD and it will patch it to 1.27

I am having exactly the same problem...is there a known solution ??

Help, please...

All the Best,

Noman

My Thanks ! Looking forward to being able to run the game... (-grin-)

And again I guess I am just one more blue suited neophyte that cant get it to work on my new PC. (NO cd rom, no Mechanical HD) Fast as a Reaver with a Plasma rifle up his arse and a battery life like a 160 year old fusion cell BUT all of the games that need to have the CD in the drive have needed have the disk one set as a mounted disk on an SD card. FOT BOS does not work in that manner, is there a fix around?
