Interplay very well could be listining to the fans... unfortuatly the fans aren't us. The fans are the same demographic that make shows like American idol and pop stars like Eminem popular. Lil' kids! Kids between the ages of 12 and 15 are what make things sell. They decide the styles and the billboard charts. They are the main buyers of Crapola! What video games lack in sales they make up for in rentals. Kids don't want to rent an RPG that takes a month to play, they want to rent a game that they can easliy beat in 3 to 5 days. I watch these items of crap jump off the shelves at the store everyday. PSX2 baldur's gate does very well in rentals, as do any sports games. Anything fast that doesn't take large amounts of thinking. My theory is that all children now have ADD from drinking too much soda and eating nothing but fast food. The POS fallout is nothing but a bi-product. Games made for kids by kids. Welcome to the nickolodeon generation.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

You know what, you're right...

I, as a now 17-year old, grew up with stuff like PnP games and....Fallout .__. I got Fallout 1 for my 13th birthday, played it through for about a gazillion times and still enjoyed it like hell...
...then came Fallout 2 and I played the soul out of that....

....then came Fallout Tactics and shattered my childhood dreams.
ADS Kidware. That's all it is.

Is there *any*, I mean ANY good RPG on the current market? Morrowind is cool but *so* limited in conversation, interaction and secrets (I just loved all the secrets in FO1&2).
Chrono Trigger for the SNES is the best I`ve found so far, but I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really WANT Fallout 3!

Interplay, I'll send you 10 bucks, if that helps. All I can afford right now

What you say? Fans? There are no fans of chuckie's project. I've heard two, maybe three positive things about this game and those are only about how it will benefit from the Fallout Universe. You do have an excellent point about kids renting a game simply because they want a quick spin, such as with sports games and such. However, sports games have two things that F:BOS lacks: Graphics and popularity. Many of those kids you speak of are simply shallow idiots looking for a graphical showpiece. As Ratty, I believe it may have been, pointed out, F:BOS has the graphics of a game from '97. The popularity part comes from the fact that Fallout is a relatively unkown game, whereas baseball is known and loved by much of the population. The "logic" you spoke of that the Interplay production team had adapted for this project is just as flawed as their idea to bring Fallout to the third person shooter genre. F:BOS will prove to be another forgettable venture, with few sales and few rentals, despite its simplicity and small appeal to casual gamers. By the way, I would appreciate it if you altered your words about the teenage demographic. I happen to be 14 and believe pop culture worthless and nothing but drivel, especially that American Idol bullshit. But, of course, if it pisses off most teenagers, I suppose I support it. Either way, carry on.

There are "fans" for this "game".

Take a look at the Fallout: BS entries at Gamers.com and look at all the clueless idiots that see "Fallout" in the name and automatically think it will be even halfway like the original games while every time Chuck has fed some regurgitated PR bullshit to some news site (check out UGO's preview...it's fucking comical beyond words).
