Best/Worst video game covers.

So I decide I would make a similar thread to my other thread, Best/Worst album covers. Only it's about video game covers instead. As the title imply, this is about posting video game covers that you think look great or shit, this is not about the quality of the game itself.

So I will start with what I think are great video game covers:

Wasteland has the most badass video game box art ever.

The original fallout box art is really memorable and shows you what the atmosphere is going to be like right away. The rusty worn down armor with a ruined city in background with the red sky gives you a sense of hopelessness.

The classic doom boxart. It's with wasteland as one of the most badass video games covers of all time.

I kind of have to like the game too, not sure if I can appreciate just the cover art if the game itself sucks, it can be like that.

But on the more minimalist style, I like the first Mafia-game's cover.

And, although kinda cheesy, I liked the old school C64 Barbarian 2 cover.

I can kinda understand, but if the art is good then why call it bad?

So anyway back to showing cool art. The art is for the first 2 Elder Scrolls games are metal as fuck.

The cover for Daggerfall looks like an album cover for ironmaiden.

Now for some bad covers:
Basically all the American mega man covers for NES.

"Betrayal at Krondor". Some of those old school game names, I still remember them. "Riftwar", I remember that too.

Y'all. This is the king of good covers. As silly as the demons look, this is still some of the best shit I've ever seen.

The cover for doom 2 is also great.

The cover for the first quake is good too. Though in its own way. I like the simplicity of the cover.

Good cover:

Spoiler: Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magica Obscura

Sums up the game's setting and conflict rather nicely in my opinion.

Bad cover:

Spoiler: Batman: Arkham City GOTY edition

Nothing quite ruins a cover than having mostly review quotes covering the cover.

Good

Bad

Good: Man gazing up to the heavens, seemingly gaining some form of insight/knowledge/enlightenment.

Bad: "Aw, yiss. Imma gonna pop a cap in your ass, then I'll go gel my hair."

Always kind of liked this one out of the Close Combat -series. Good game too for it's time.
