Official thread:
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=593070

Guidelines:
- Excellent sense of 3D game space and gameflow.
- Experience with designing, building, and populating game levels.
- Experience scripting or programming complex interactivity.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with The Elder Scrolls Construction Set a plus.
- Game industry experience a plus.
- Experience using modular kits a plus
- Excellent, proven creative writing skills a plus.

Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old or more.
- Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, Rockville, Maryland.

Description of the position:
"Designers focus on writing quests, dialogue, NPC schedules, and the like. Level Designers are focused on building spaces for gameplay. There's more to it than that, of course, but if your strengths are in dialogue writing, for instance, this isn't the job you want. In Oblivion, this applies to all the dungeons, for instance, but in Fallout 3, it will apply to a wider range of spaces. Those who make it to the interview process and sign NDA privacy forms will get more details on that."

I am not an employee of bethesda, nor do I represent them in anyway. I am a member at TES forums, and a minor Fallout fan. All information provided I am just repeating from the official thread.

Please join in the official disscussion at the link above.

Oh shit.

Fallout 3 is not only in the hands of Bethesda but now a fleet of 14 year olds also

did you read the thread?

All the replies are from 14 year olds

guess thats why they went looking in here

We are checking that info and who is Joel Burgess, we will put it on the news later. Asking for FO3 level designers on a Morrowind and Oblivion modding forum doesn't bring a good vibe to me...

Yeah, that's always a good idea, try to recruit amongst the underaged on your forum.
What happened to people who actually have some form of experience other than 'I worked on a mod LOL!!!1'

Oh no, Bethesda is hiring employees. Who'd have thought?

And in the modding forum for Morrowind and Oblivion, no less, hope you're happy now Lumpy, weren't you the one that liked the Oblivion with guns idea?

I really hope they something good out of their sleeve in the end though.

I'll tell you guys why I posted there - that mod community has done some good things with the mod tools, and like it or not, those are very similar to the tools Fallout 3 will be built with. Oh, and I knew it was inevitable for the post to link places like here and DAC, so I'm hoping to draw interest from the Fallout community that way as well - I just don't feel as comfortable stomping onto somebody else's turf and recruiting.

Does this post mean we're going to hire from the mod community? Not definitely, though I believe we might find a diamond in the rough. We're still looking for industry folks through the usual channels.

Well, just wanted to say my bit. Glad you guys have such interest - if not faith - in me. Haha! Back to lurk mode. Flame on.

Must be JoelBurgess...

Indeed I find your reactions a bit curious. It has been widely asserted that a number of mods have done a better job on the Oblivion and Morrowind games than the Bethesda developers themselves, improving the game on key points. Despite a lack of professionalism, one would be inclined to say you'd rather see the competence of those modders of the ineptitude of the Bethesda devs that produced Oblivion.

That said, this subject can now be found in the news forum, and this thread is closed.
