Bicycles in Fallout world

We have seen it all. From cars and motorbikes, to buses and metros, over submarines and planes, right up to space stations and zeppelins.
But I don't recall seeing one thing.
Good ol' bicycle.

I'd say that is paradoxal that such simple, yet highly useful device, was forgotten by people of (post-)post-apocalyptic world, and its creators.

Really, is it that hard to imagine people constructing and repairing bikes, driving them around.
People in post-apoc world are not stupid, and know how to get their way with many complex things, but not to make and drive a bike? C'mon... That is absurd.

On a side note, there may have been some bike parts shown or mentioned in Fallout games, and there's a high chance I've missed that. Still, I'm pretty sure bikes, in their "full form" were not featured.

Actually, there were bikes, I recall what's-his-face the nuka cola guy riding a bike.

Actually I recall seeing at least kid's bicycles on Fallout 3 :), but I don't think there are any in Fallout 1 and 2 (the real fallouts :D)

Yeah, there are those Red Racer or something in Fallout 3, but just like Fallout 3 isn't really Fallout, so aren't those things really bikes.

So we have tricycles, at best...and those are in Fallout 3...diminishing...

Not really sure to what or who you are reffering there.
Got some pictures?

Well the only explanation is that civilization is to advanced to ride bicycles!

This was the stupidest random encounter ever.

Yup, that's Phil the Nuca Cola dude, carrying rare bottle of a Fission Nuca Cola.

It's pretty stupid indeed. But I would never say there are no bikes in the fallout universe, just because we don't see them in the game.

Regarding Fallout 1 and 2, at least, one can argue that it doesn't seem to be a good idea to drive through the desert by bike, I'll guess.

I'm sorry, but I haven't played Tactics, but that picture shows that I am wrong.
And I am happy that I am wrong, as much as that encounter seems stupid.

And sure, driving through desert by a bike is stupid, but what I ment is more like bike being used everyday from in NCR, for example. You know, from home to work, etc. It's a big community.
Also, postal services could make a good use of those.

When I think about it, bikes in post-apocalyptic world don't really fit it, take the circumstances. But in post-post-apocalyptic, they certainly do.

And that thing looks awesome. I crave for one.
