Black Lives Matter

As an outsider, all I know is that there's a lot of police murdering people in America for seemingly inane or even no reasons; these people also tend to be of a specific group and ethnicity.
I can understand the message behind "Black Lives Matter" and why "All Lives Matter" can be considered as somewhat missing the point, but despite it being an actual issue it seems to simply be the latest in a long series of causes being exploited by those behind them.

Politics, unfortunately, permeates every facet of this debacle, which makes statistics and media outlets difficult to take at face value. I agree of course that police-free environments are a ridiculous notion, but I'm also of the opinion that, from what's trickled down to me through the white noise, police in America have a serious issue with wanton violence.

I've read interviews and reports as to some possible reasons why this may be (police have taken an "us vs. them" mentality, officers are designed to be increasingly intimidating creating distrust) nut again, it's political.

As a last word, BLM is an online phenomenon, therefore it is subject to all the issues every other political matter on the internet has; misinformation, disproportionate reactions and, most of all, echo chambers on either side of the conflict. Nobody's open-minded about anything anymore because they don't need to be; it's incredibly easy to find a group somewhere online who will unconditionally agree with our opinions. This intentional lack of dialogue is, I think, the central problem to all recent discourse.

Personally I find it absurd. I'm an atheist and I dislike what christianity has done over the millennia's but I would never be such a fucking crybaby that I'd go "WAAAAAH I DON'T LIKE IT!!! I DEMAND THAT YOU REMOVE IT!!! WAAAAA!!! WAAAAAA!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" It's part of history and should remain where they were erected. Good symbol, bad symbol: irrelevant.

If they find it such a fucking eyesore then they can save up money and move.

Maybe they're so used to being oppressed and don't know what to do with their freedom they feel they need something to complain about. I think if you don't like living in a western country you should fuck off to wherever you came from. I don't want to be a minority in my own country but even with Brexit it'll soon be the case. Oh well, when the whites die out they'll have no one to moan about I guess.
 
They could always go to Liberia.

Yea, because without police, places like Chicago are doing so well with gang violence practically unchecked, and a black culture of 'no snitching'. A culture that glamorizes 'hustling', where if you are not a rap or sports star, your not 'black enough'. A culture where speaking proper English means that black individual is 'acting white', or is an 'uncle tom'. A culture where success and intelligence is viewed as 'weak'.

You euros wonder why socialism is such a dirty word in the states? It is because a MAJORITY of socialist supporters are fucking idiots like these. Maybe the left will one day get a social champion that is willing to compromise, unlike that crazy old man Sanders or super hippy Stein.

As of right now, basically any side of the American political spectrum is balls-out insane.
 
As a European, I only feel as if a lot of American politics are more and more American.
BLM? I have NO idea where I stand in the issue, because I'm not American. My people never enslaved blacks. In fact, my people exclusively enslaved whites. Considering that the whites we enslaved were red-haired, freckled Celts, I'd say that we enslaved people whiter than us. Hell, we enslaved the whitest people on earth.

I've seen all the explanations for and against BLM. And I can only conclude with the following:
It's an American issue. You guys are so crazy. Your cops seriously need to learn some de-escalation tactics, I think I can say that, as an outsider. Stop shooting everything, not just people, but baby-deers and kittens, just... less with the bang-bang, okay?
 
A big part of the problem is that narrative too often trumps facts. This cellphone footage is raw and heart-wrenching, but it leads to emotional responses before the entirety of the facts have come to light. Sometimes they might never, not every situation is so binary. People cherry-pick the facts that support their already calcified opinions and spin it into provocative rhetoric.

To be honest, let's look at the leading causes of death in this demographic and being unarmed and shot by white supremacist cops ranks where? Is the attention this issue gets proportional to the attention higher causes of death get, and if not, ask yourself why.

That said, BLM picks some really shitty martyrs to be their posterboys.

I didn't mean all of Dixie, just a small part (like the western border of Mississippi - basically Africa). But then we'd have to spend money on another wall, so perhaps annexing a part of Mexico for them might be a better idea.
