Broken Door in Temple

I just started the Temple of Trials. The first door shows as broken; I can not repair it or pick the lock. I found the bolt, thinking that would work. All I have in the section are one giant ant (killable) and one full-size radscorpion (probably not killable). Do I have to kill the critters to get the door open?

I know that mod, even though I can't recall the name at the moment. If I remember correctly, if you go down the hallway to the right, in the room at the end there is a large stone laying on the ground. Pick it up and return to the wide area just before the door. There should be a trigger plate on the floor that you set the stone on to open the door. Also, I think that there is a metal pole you can find in that area somewhere that you can use to pry the door open.
