BSM 3D ?

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
I made some experiments with Dromed, editor for Thef and System Schock 2. Already i made my first mod to SS2. Its just empty room with blue ambient light. Project is to made 3D Vault 15. Fallouthy game on SS2 engine.

Its two possible options: delete BSM project and change it (evolute) to Fallout 3D or work on two mods at once (second part of BSM in 3D version)

I known that better is finish something (anything) my plans was ambitious so i learn almost everything about modding F2. Suddenly this bored me. Probably too long my perception was limited to 2D world so i start interesting with creating 3D games. Already i only increase my knowledge about DromED (Thief and SS2 editor) Possibilities are great and now i feel some "perception freedom".

My first plan is to made Vault13 on SS2 engine. I made some progress on that. First screen from this project: Picture

i'd go for the second way. too much work behind you, i guess. don't screw it up!

seems interesing, thanks for the link.

pity but yea, i ain't surprised you've changed your mind. after all this thread is one month old.

BSM project is now frozen and am working on something else. Maybe someday i will return.

Wow, not like we couldn't see this happening. I think it really became obvious that this project was going nowhere when you decided to add in WH40k, Sardaukar, for no apparent purpose other than they exist and you have no writing ability otherwise than to watch movies and play other games, then try to pry them into Fallout without much care or concern with the styles used. Fallout and WH40k are quite different in terms of setting design and styles.

I think this thread said it completely:

Maybe lot people dont remember that first ideas for this mod was made posnuclear horror inspired by Hellraiser. But wise man think twice so i change this concept. Well i think twenty times anyway about it. Maybe i am close to final idea, dont want say to much and made next chaos heh

Well, now that the mod is effectively dead, you don't have to worry about changing the theme and projected design every other week anymore.

And now we get to the piece de resistance:

More realism=Better RPG

And...

I think you still dont get it that Fallout and W40K system is almost the same but got different names to things. So why i cant take elements from one to other?

In both games you wear power armours and fight with big green enemies.

Look, if you want a forum to host your mod, that is one thing. A forum dedicated to you and your "Kew1 Idea of the Week", involving what additional pop culture icon you can pry into Fallout's engine, is not what we agreed on. You had a mod you were working on, and now it seems that since you can't be bothered to stick to a design and finish it, you're giving up on the whole thing. What were you expecting, a whole load of people to jump up in excitement over this crap? No, seriously, from May of this year people were wondering where this mod was going, which would be confusing as hell for any new person reading this forum because your "design" changes with each thread. First, it is all random encounters. Because, you know, that worked for Diablo. Then it was all location-based.

Fuck it, from now on, for someone to get mod hosting, we want to see at least a partial design document with some seriousness behind it. There is no more of this "I want a forum for a mod but I can't decide what pop-culture crap it should be ripped-off from!" garbage anymore. So new mods can instead go here if they only intend to waste our time, to fill in along with the other vaporware.

Sardaukar

The inherent coolness of the Sardaukar ALMOST but not quite overwhelms the stupidity of melding it in with a Fallout setting.

Which theorectical mod version was that supposed to be in, anyways?

(obviously lost hope about project)

Problem is that i got experience and knowledge about modding Fallout2, but too many ideas what to do with them. Surely you dont seen all my ideas, like Ultima8 inspirations. Yes its right that it going to nowhere that way. Ofcourse some of ideas trough research maybe was good?

Things that could be tolerated:

World after nuclear war. Every cities are burn down. You decided to walk outside from your shelter (after some years of hidding) and explore world. Everything now look different. You must find yourself in new reality and survive. During explorations you find prior quest that is now you point in life.

Realisation: All towns from Fallout2 destroyed, npc, items deleted, added new quests and items. Temple from arryo are just old building where you decided to build own shelter so its your home from you start, village does not exist.

Result: Alternate Fallout2 game, looking more like Fallout1

I will pull that idea for vote and if more than 70% poeples will accept it, i will do it.

I think you'll get 100% votes for it. That idea was the most realistic and most popular.

What I liked and what I think you should add (which people may or may not agree with) is the junkworld idea as seen in one of the first of your concepts, you remember, the one where the world is covered in junk...

Junkworld is better as ruins. Already dont exist in game fallen walls, but i can mede it and it should look like junkyard. Everything may be fallen in one direction- centre of big explosion like half burned trees (in one of my concept)

That's the problem...you need to look at it and see what people would have an interest in, not what tickles your fancy at the moment. That just leads to a lot of later work spent validating one silly idea, much like the Fo2 easter eggs.

The concept in your post would meet little objections, as I think that is what people both wanted from Fallout as well as using your modding knowledge. You just kept falling prey to "Oh, hey, this is pretty neat, I should put it in as well..." which is something I have been guilty of more than a few times, but don't let it become the whole focus of your project. You sound like you have a good thing going on with the focus on more ruin, I personally say that you should run with it.

Anyway- this topic is about made Fallout 3D on SS2 engine (using DromED) and i want here only opinions about that concept.

Already got some experience in creation with 3D world so i will try it. This will be abandon Vault 15. Shadows, strange voices in corridors, blinking lights. In Fallout game you can see what is behind walls, here atmosphere will be more frighting. Two games are connected in some way so its possible to made pip-boy and holodisc, similar weapons, mutants and else.

SS2 game is mostly designed to explore some abandon place by one person. Mostly it will be connected to Fallout by the same style of play, that was in: Vault15, Sierra army, Military Base, Glow, Necropolis

personally i like 2d fallout graphic but its seems interesting - maybe some little game in 3d how we will be live in vaults in the future =P train before you enter or sth =P ;)

In 3D shooter you encounter more emotional rections like reflex, fear, wonder (what behind corner)

Fallout2 is more inteligent, i mean educational, realistic.
