Cant wait for Fallout Las Vegas

First time out of the vault
Man... Every once in a while I will say to my self "I should go play Fallout las vegas" and then I realize that the game has barley been announced... And then I try and go play fallout 3, and that just makes me want a game that doesn't completely suck even more... Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should play to get me entertained? I have played and beaten fallout 1, and I'm playing fallout 2 and tactics, and I have BoS but its too scratched up to get past the loading screen (But from what I heard I don't think I want to get past it ). :|
 
I'm not looking forward to this. They have maybe one or two guys that aren't artists from the original fallout series which is great. I just don't have any confidence in Obsidian Entertainment. My prime examples are KOTR II (piece of flaming shit), and NWN2. As much as everyone here says that Bethesda sucks, which they do. Bethesda still makes better games than Obsidian Entertainment. Either way you look at it though we're screwed.
 
At least Obsidian has the heart, even if it doesn't come out much.

Bethesda only cares for profit and copies what others have done before, they are incompetent and untalented.
 
:( Well I guess all that we can hope for is that bethsdumb will let its bitch company Interplay make a good game...

Well, at least Obsidian always puts emphasis on telling a story, whatever quality it may be. And have decent writers.
 
Glad this place is anti fallout 3. That thing really is a disappointment. What made me get and play Fallout 1 and 2 was.. power armor. First it was Fallout 2 that I tried. that Enclave advanced power armor motivated me. Then weeks or months later I tried and played and even finished Fallout 1 with that awesome muscular T-51b. Fallout 2 I have still to play and finish. Anyways I'm not really hoping much from that Obsidian Entertainment but it'd be nice if a new and great Fallout game is made once again and not some messed up bethesda's let's-turn-a-good-franchise-into-fucked-up-shit game with horrible animations and pathetic looking power armors (especially the enclave ones. seriously.. thin arms and huge chest? That's just wrong).

Don't mind me rant here. I just wanted to have an outlet in a proper forum about failout 3. :mrgreen:

After playing Fallout 1&2 I have searched in vain for a game that gives me what those two gave me. But maybe you can give Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl a shot. It was a very good game.

Played SHOC, CS, and im anticipating COP. I look at them like the Russian version of fallout :)
 
Sorry to double post, but isn't there a mmo out there that is kinda like fallout, but involves the hoover dam? If i remember correctly im pretty sure its in beta, but it looked kinda promising.
 
It's called Fallen Earth. I've played the beta and it was pretty fun, but gets boring easily like any other MMO I've played. There really isn't anything grund-breaking, aside for a decent story and bigger emphasis on scavenging and crafting. It won't be free 2 play after the beta, so I forgot about it.

In Obsidian's defense, KOTOR II was rushed and they never got to completely finish the game.
 
wait a month...

In a month Alpha Protocol will come out and if it sucks, we can all not hold our breath for the next 11+ months after that. This was a game which they had plenty of time for development and was not somebody else's IP. I did enjoy KOTOR II though still.

After that, there's still a sliver of a hope for Wasteland 2.
 
I doubt Alpha Protocol will be of any interest to me. I saw some gameplay and it is way too consolish for me (hundreds of meaningless achievements, overpowered skills, Thorton being a mix between James Bond and Neo etc.).

Perhaps dialogues will introduce something new, since you can have conversation only once.
 
I'm wondering, what do people think of Obsidian developing New Vegas instead of Bethesda?

Good or bad? More canon issues?
 
More like 'We'll see'.

I have given Obsidian way to much credit in the past and as others reminded me, not all issues with their games was to blame on short development time.

Alpha Protocol already shows that Obsidian is also moving towards RPG hybrid games, and while I do enjoy those on occasion, to see them becoming the definition of a CRPG is not really what I would like to happen.
 
It's damn great.

KOTOR2 is, hands down, the best Star Wars game to come out in the past years, especially with the TSLRP, which makes it look as Mister Chris Avelone (MHLF) intended it to.

Sure, their games might not be technically groundbreaking, but I don't care about bugs or graphics long as it has a good story.

I'm a story whore and I say it with pride. Graphics are fleeting, sound relative, but stories and writing remain immortal.
