Children Patch to Fallout 1?

Wolfguard

First time out of the vault
Hi,

Just to be sure, there is no such thing as a Children Patch to Fallout 1, right?

But if I’m right, will that mean there are no children in Fallout 1?

I think there are children in Fallout 1, but I could be wrong.
The child patch just contains the missing frames, or so I think.
Just unzip it to your Fallout folder and if there are meant to be children, the children will appear.

I think there was a dead child in the Glow, but as I said, I could be hallucinating there.

There are children running all over the place in Shady Sands, and at least one each in the Hub and Boneyard. Some random encounters include children, too.

As far as the Glow, all of the bodies there (except the one in power armor) are piles of ash. I guess one of the smaller piles of ash could be a child, but it's not obvious.

However, this thread does remind me of something I have thought about before. How come there are not any children at V13? You'd figure there would be an entire section of the vault dedicated to nursery, schooling, etc for children...

Clones, perhaps?

I guess they didn't make vault suits in childs size. And we all know the vault people wear vault suits. So that why there no children in de vault.......

It was only explained for Vault Eight.

It's game logic, it was easier to not show us.

BTW, one of the charred body's is a dead Vault Dweller.

No joke.

Does a Children Patch to Fallout 1 exist? Where? Would I be able to install it now, when I’m in Vault-15?

I think I remember having seen a charred child in the Glow in one of the living quarters. However it's been some time and I'm not very sure of it.

I will have to look for it the next time I'm looting the Glow...

Yeah, I remember those piles of ash. And if I recall right, some (if not all) of them do say Vault Dweller. Ah, I have to play Fallout 1 soon again. I can't remember what place the Glow was before they dropped them bloody nukes.

Isn't the Glow the same location on the map as the 'real world' Twenty-nine Palms Base?

Jay, most of us AREN'T yanks. We don't have a CLUE what's 29 Palms base. Well, the ones who are UFO freaks might...but you get the point.

Before the nukes dropped, Glow was known as West Tek research facility. First FEV was developed there, and when the facility got nuked, the FEV was released to air. I don't thing that this location has a real world replicant.

Childrens can be found in Shady Shands, Hub, Masters vault, some random encounters.

Thanks Skynet for refreshing my memory. Ah, I will always remember the feeling when I decended into Glow the first time. Sooo hottamn exiting!

Oh my God? I've just saved the girl in that raider camp ... and I haven't yet been able to find a kid ... have I missed a lot?

Children aren't very common in the Wasteland. People are busy, but not THAT busy. Why did you save the girl? Abuse her and blow her brains out, much more satisfying. And you also save the world from the soon to be founded NCR.

Naw, it's not a UFO base, that's Area 51 in Roswell. Twenty-nine Palms is a mofo HUGE military transportation hub and training ground used by all branches of the US military (but primarily the USMC) in California. In strategic importance, it would be a primary target for anyone shooting nukes at the US.
