city patch!!

I'm just curious why you guy's aren't making new encounter's and city's and other location's in fallout2 since the city patch is out there so much room on the world map where you can easily add new places to get more new weapon's and toy's more new quest's. More new npc's etc!!

is anybody even making new are's for fallout2 and if yes if you need someone to test area's email me at murdrax@hotmail.com cause i would really love to see all new area's not replacement's or edit's litterrally new!!
 
Many guys are making those things murdrax, but no one wants to show up with a half-baked mod, good quality stuff takes some time.
 
The editor for Fallout 2 was released just days ago! Be patient, young grasshopper... There's only so much stuff these guys can do with such a short amount of time.

I say the best way to make the perfect city is to include me! Perferably not as the rat you step on when you first enter the place either :x

cool sorry if i sounded impatient looking at realese date on game figured fallout2 has been out a while had no idea editor has only recently been realesed well once city's and new encounter's are out fallout2 will be more fun me personally would love to see ability to make a deathclaw or ghoul or super mutant coded into fallout 2 that would really rock!!
 
I tryed the city patch and me and the Sweout team are making a new town called Regula, unfortunatly I don't seem to be able to get the city patch to work. :?

Can someone explain which files you have to edit to make a new town (All of them I know of a few) It'd be a great help.
Also what to put in where. :)
 
I have made some new encounters for my mod but I am still working on too many other projects to release it. Random encounters are fairly easy to make because you can assign existing scripts to the critters you place and you don't need to start a new game everytime you need to test them; but new towns are another matter and would take an awful lot of time to script them but I agree; someone should work on the EPA, and all the other locations they left out of the game. In one of the fallout bibles there is lots of info on how the EPA was going to be laid out so maybe someone should take it from there and get on the project.

I agree, Sweout have almost finnished the mapping part, but the scripting part will take alot of time, i'm not really into scripting (havn't tried much though).

Just wait and see, there will be tons of mods and tools released, just be patient 8)
 
New idea for a mod

Hey,

i dont know how to mod..

but i got an idea for a mod for FO2..

the idea is that in (forgot the name of town (the town u can help the sherif)) when u talk to the mayor you get the option to buy a big lot of land (out in the desert some where)

on the land is a small 2 story house and a gararge (in there is a hidden lift and when u goto the land ur car is put just out side the gararge)

on the land is also a big farm with a load of NPC's farming.. (wlaking around (to make it look like a working farm)

all aroudn the property is a chain wire fence with a gate near the road)

below is like 3 levels (the elevator in the garage only goes down one level) with security guns, as soon as u come out of the elevator ur in a small room with a door and a console panel.. and u need to enter a special code to disable the guns..

the first underground level is a storage level.. (food, weapons armor ect (there is an area u have to have special access (as u do cause u own the place) to enter and thats where the ammo guns ect is kept)

second underground level is liek where the NPC's sleep and stuff.. (and a doc)

on the last underground level is your office..

the most secuer area in that part of the map..

you office ect.. in the office is a console where u can change the password for acces ect..

if this is all possible :D then there is one more thing i would like..

make it so that if u sleep in your new block of land..

then there r random encounters.. (I.e ppl come and attack.. break in and try and take over)

so ull need guards ect..

i think this would be great..

if its possible let me know..

Well, we're working on EPA now. Thanks to Skynet I have a good Abbey map. When the Abbey it's finished, we'll deal with the Primitive Tribe.
 
There B.O.S. mod (still demo) is actually already using the completely new location in FO2. I think Team X didn't use the city patch at all, but I'm not a modder or a programmer. So feel free to correct me.
