Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
did you see the original?

yes: do not see this movie. ever. at all.

no: the movie is ok, wait for DVD unless you want to watch it in 3D. i did not see the 3D version, but generally it seems that 3D has done pretty good recently.

no, there is no owl. anyone who says there is, is wrong. the movie is not a re-make of the 80s movie, it shares some elements, but it is a totally different movie.

terribad imo

See it. It's a low budget, greek mythology action film with some fun parts that moves rather quickly.

Not to be confused with the original.

True. I expected this and got what I expected. If you see it expecting it to be anything else, you will be disappointed.

Also true. I like the original better. I didn't hate this one, but it's nothing to get excited about. It reminded me of a higher-budget episode of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

The only other good film out this time of year will be "Alice In Wonderland". Though, alot of people have also complained about this film, I look at it as scraps for a film goer to feed off of while we all wait for the summer.

I haven't seen Repomen yet, but will soon.

Also, there are heavy references to the original. Especially the "OWL" prop.

yea, see i fully expected the owl to be a big part of this movie like it was the last one...

i read about how the lead star guy complained about having to have the owl in the movie, saying that it did not belong in this movie at all and ruined it...

i was expecting the owl to be there for more than 3-4 seconds as a bit reference.

Wow, they screwed up another remake, believing that they should improve on the original and remove things they consider silly and therefore the audience should consider that as well.

What an incredible development.

Someone else in the General Forum showed a blog in which someone told why Hollywood is resorting more on remakes, sequels/prequels, and movies based on franchises such as games and cartoons, rather than risking making something completely new in the hope to draw people just for the name alone.

Hollywood can go broke for all I care, they barely have made any movie in the last ten years that could catch my attention.

So 120 Million is now low budget?

Umm, Have you seen the budgets coming out of Hollywood today Kilus? Small countries are burned and indigenous people relocated for every Michael Bay film.

Just because other films have ridiculous budgets doesn't mean 120 Million is low budget.

I read that the 3d blows because it wasn't shot in 3d like Avatar. It was just added on after the fact, to cash in on the new "big thing" in Hollywood.

The original is 1000 times better anyways. Who needs "state of the art" special effects bullshit?

how comes hollywood hasnt managed in the recent past to get out any decent movie about greek mythology. At least they did it somewhat well with Gladiator around the Roman Empire. As movie it was good.

The movie was ok, nothing to write home about but it was worth the price and good fun.

A Nightmare on Elm Street will be the next great remake.

The whole time I was thinking "Why not just make a badass super violent God Of War movie"?

I kept wanting to see Percius jab his fingers into some monsters eye sockets and rip it off spine attached.

And I agree Hollywood can burn. Just like the videogame crash of the eighties when greedy fucks just churned out shitty games by the dozen.
