Compiler

watcom does work on xp.. i know 'cos i use it... look on my site ( url in the sig.. ) under tutorials for "Compiler setup"..

it's because. like it or not. XP is classed ( at least as far as watcom is concerned ) as an NT system...

i forgot where i got mine from.. i think it was the fallout mod center.. ( link on our links page.. ) or it might have been from DAC.. but it's most likely from mod center.

you have to install watcom for NT... not a 95-98 environment on XP..

have you bothered to read my tutorial?

I usally do stuff on my own. And I'm trying to use the watcom of the mod site. Though I'm going not to..it's openWatcom.

Remember that Windows XP chews up a lot more resources than a 95/98 platform which could be a factor thats causing you problems with watcom, maybe watcom needs a faster processor if its run under XP; I would suggest uninstalling XP and rolling back to 98.

My dad works for Sprint and has the computers linked up. If I do that it'll backtrack his and mess up his files.

read the tutorial for god's sake.... it's all explained in there..... you say you do stuff yourself, but then ask loads of people how it works..... save yourself the hasle and look at my tutorial.... if you decide it's of no use to you, at least let me know you read it.... cos so far, most of this thread could have been avoided if you read it in the first place...

i short you compile with a batch file and run under a dos window... but it's all explained in the tutorial... the only thing the tutorial doesn't do is explain HOW to script..
