Could Fallout (original)style games be successful on phones?

Idiotfool

Still Mildly Glowing
So, I'm still cool with top-down isometric RPGs with turn-based combat, but the rest of the world pretends that it's outdated for PC games to be made that way. Given the prevalence of games like Farmville or throwback-type games for phones, do you think an expansive isometric RPG akin to Fallout would be commercially successful on either of these platforms?

Is the state of the gaming industry such that games with "teh graficz" are separate from those with an engrossing story and we must turn to these vehicles in order to satisfy our RPG nerdly desires? New Vegas has mediocre graphics for the time of its release and a pretty good, though not awesometacular story. It's the best I've played, recently, though...

Why settle for a new game when you can play the original?

Neat, but it seems unplayable. And, I didn't mean Fallout 1 or 2 directly, just the style of gameplay. Console bitches can't complain about the view and turn-based since it's tiny and phone-based or large, but browser based. Graphics whores stay away from those, so they're my only hope in terms of substance over visuals.

Wanted to know if others thought a new Fallout or fallout-type game would be successful on those platforms.

My friend has some Nokia E51 (think thta it is the right one), and on it he has some fanmade Fallout game. It uses graphics similar to Fallout 1 and 2, some things being the same (people, buildings etc), some being quite stupid (the ground, grass etc). Made by Game Studio Almemusic, or something.
It's crappy, and not really canonical. Of course, fanmade game cannot be canon, but I mean important elements (Great War, Vaults etc.) are kinda strangely used in some own fan-canon.
Story (I played the game for about half an hour, or so) is a mixture of 1, 2, and maybe 3, don't know.
But it's really buggy, and is veeeeeeeery slow at loading.

If I were you, and if I was able to, I'd do what JesusC suggested.
