A few friends of mine started playing Diablo 2, and they got me addicted again. We actually sit home and play with each other over the net - on Battle.net. Man, I must say, that game is really addicting. I just bought the expansion, since I never had it before. In about a week when my friend goes to college and sets up his new PC, he's going to install the expansion. Right now, we are just playing the regular game.
 
Diablo 2 sucks so bad that I've never even played it. Diablo 1 ruled all.
 
Playing Diablo II makjes me want to eat my hands, no idea why. BTW I'll use this time to introduce myself since it seems "hi, im new" type threads aren't really loved (don't blame ya) anyways, I'm new.
 
I loved diablo 2 for sooo long :). I loved creating new characters who utilized different skills and tested how effective they were. Then I realized WOW, I've wasted so much of my time doing absolutely nothing :). Like at least in most games, you feel attatched to a plot... but in D2 idk... I think I just played to have better loot than everybody else :(.
 
I didn't care for the gameplay but (this sounds odd) I really enjoyed the story and the setting. Not only is it set into a feudal, fantasy realm but its rampant with demons and what not. I like how there's an Order (I forget which one, only knowing Deckard Cain is the last of them) specifically roled to destroy demons. Just seems romantic to know that a wild barbarian, noble paladin, deathly necromancer, and exotic sorceress are able to take down the devil.

Okay, since you like Diablo so much, can you explain something to me? Having barely played the first Diablo, I'm a bit confused with some elements of the story. Is the wanderer (the man possessed by Diablo) the hero of the first Diablo game?
 
Crazy fool! Why didn't he just drop it in the ocean?

D2 was good.... till the hacking really started... IE: "I'll give you 10 coins for the rarest item in the game!"
 
He didn't because Diablo was so strong... Diablo could burst out of the soulstone and then wreck havoc again. The hero decided that if he fought the soulstone and travelled as far away from civilization as possible, Diablo wouldnt be able to feed on souls and go wild. Well, that didn't work, as you can tell by the story.

If you play in the realm, not open battle.net, then characters cannot get hacked. The players are saved on a server, and aren't hacked. There are really strong people because they play the game and find real items, trade, and give to others. It's an actual world.

Nope. My brother duplicated items constantly. And then there were the map hacks... and the grab hacks... (I could go on but am too lazy)
 
What's a grab hack? I know about the map hack. You cant hack your character though.

So how do you dup items in D2?
 
Dammit, all the talk about D2 and rare items has made me wanna play the game with my level 90 Paladin again after one year of idling. A pox on ye all :P
 
D2 is a very good game....cheating makes it stupid though...there was one cheat that you can duplicate items with...that is...saving your character files....then giving an item to a player on multiplayer...and then replacing the save games with the older ones (the ones you made before giving the item)...this way both players have the item....
oh and Ahoy main Forumers...
 
That's Open Battle.net. The save files for closed battle.net is saved on the servers. You have no access to them.
 
ooh...well....i never played on b.net i always played IP....ah well....cheating is stupid anyway
 
Diablo 1 was beter...well at least for me.Crapy story (devil in dungeone for 100000-th time,please!) but quests were good,felling when you get new weapon or armor...almost like sex :wink: .But i played and finished Diablo 2 and it was cool at the begining but when you have to kill milions and milions monsters all over again...ugh!BTW the movies were AWESOME!
 
Diablo 2 and it's expansion are a waste of time. You can only go through the cow level so many times before you get tired of it...
