dilemma with new vegas purchase

ok, here is my slight dilemma. i want to play the game and in general like Obsidian as a company, but hate Bethesda.
With Fallout 3 I bought it used (at a yard sale a week after it came out of all places to find it) So that was perfect, Beth got no money from me and I got to play the game...and be disappointed lol.

So how the heck do I make a purchase of New Vegas to show support for Obsidian but not for Bethesda, who I don't want getting any more of my money?

1. Go to gamestore
2. Look for kid who purchases New Vegas
3. Follow kid
4. Steal kid's copy of New Vegas
5. Run
6. Send your money to Obsidian

It's not exactly rocket science, is it?
 
You can torrent it, but i am not the one who told you that.
OR................You can just buy the game, and maybe Bethesda will see that Obsidian deserves DLC's.

You can wait until game will be cheaper, so you will give less money to publisher (Bethesda).

1. Build your very own rail gun
2. Go to gamestop, tell them this is a heist and take the first hot chick that you see as a hostage
3. Take all of the Fallout New Vegas copies you see and make the girl carry them
4. Send the hot chick and fallout NV copies to me (You can keep 1 Fallout NV copy)
5. I will send the money to Obsidian

I can't think of a way to interpret your post that doesn't make you come off like a doucher. If you're so driven to protest Bethesda, I suggest you just buy it used. I don't think either company will sorely miss the money you would have spent amidst the millions of dollars they will be making on release day.

Seriously, why would you even go so far? I have a mental picture of you and you're using a Macintosh. You are wearing a beret and typing your posts from an internet cafe. There is a free trade coffee in your hand and you can't hear yourself think because of all the beat poetry going on in the background.

Better go to Obsidian, take Avellone as hostage and get recent build of game. Leave'em some bucks.
 
The best way to support Obsidian is to buy the game. If it sells well Obsidian will get more contracts in the future. If it sells really well, Bethesda might even let them develop the series for them from here on out.

Profits come to distributors, publisher and developer. Developers cut is constant X bucks per copy (even if price is $5, if contract doesn't say other). But publishers part is much more. Overprofits corrupt industry.

I think it's time he did a brand new one to clear up some of the inconsistencies/contradictions over the past decade. Then we can know what is/isn't official.

People suggesting "Buy used" forget that buying used games doesn't actually help the game industry. If Beth makes money off this and people like it, they'll probably be willing to let Obsidian do more Fallout games and stick to handling Elder Scrolls.
