Divinity Original sin(and commander)

1) I don't see why they need to kickstart this - their previous games were successful enough, so I'm sure they wouldn't have too much trouble with finding a publisher. Oh wait, they decided to make a silly dragon-flying arcade game instead of a Divinity sequel.

2) Divine Divinity doesn't really need a "nostalgia remake/sequel". Divinity 2 was a great game in its own right, and I was hoping for a proper sequel rather than what looks like a remake of DD.

In other words, WTF, Larian :?

To improve their game?
In original sin, I haven't heard of dragon shooting. Infact, Original sin's motivation was from TOEE and fallout which are good stratege turn-based game. If they make shooting, I don't expect their game.

Yeah... Divinity 2 was great game but from where I heard, what they want to make is turn-based strategic isomatric RPG.

I'm talking about the Dragon Commander game, the idea of which I find kind of silly, and I doubt it'll do that well. It's almost as if they expect that one to bomb, so they've decided to kickstart the game their fans would've actually cared about.

Well, I just saw TotalBiscuit's preview of the game, and it does look quite promising. The only thing I'm a bit concerned about is the dialogue system - as cool as it is for coop, I want to be able to play comfortably in single-player without missing out on too much.

Anyway, too bad I don't have the extra money to throw at kickstarter, but I'll likely get this game after release, as the previous divinity games have been quite fascinating.

For me, Dragon commander looks like Civilization+Age of empire+shooting+ETC.
It's quit surprised me that nobody mentioned Divinity in this forum while RPG codex and RPG watch had a competition of pledging.

Now I'm trying Divine Divinity. wonderful graphic makes me excited.

I put down $65 for both Dragon Commander and Original Sin. Original Sin looks like the more promising game of the two but Dragon Commander is definitely not a "dragon flying arcade game" and if you think so then you clearly have not done the research on it.

Let's say I had no motivation to. The dragon sections were the weakest element of Divinity 2, and I found it odd that they decided to build a whole game around the concept.

I don't think Dragon shooting is big part of game.
rather than shooting, they emphasize political part if my memory is right.

For divinity2, dragon part was useful because of flying.

Dragon is not a shooting part, it's just unit that are little bit higher HP than other unit and little bit stronger damage and far faster than other unit and controll by WASD.
and it isn't good idea to charge the dragon into horde of enemy, they can kill the dragon easily. but for guerilla, dragon is good idea.

for beta, too bad that I can't play political part which would be the most important part.

Finally, the game released!
It's quite awesome for now.
it is silly to judge a game before beat the game but I think it's well done.
especially, combat is awesome and world if full of interactions.

Quite surprising that no one talks about the game here. It's awesome and very fallout like in terms of mechanics.

I found out how to save both soldiers in healer's house.
there's a blood stone at pirate's cave.
you can find the cave at shore where orcs guarding around.

I really like the randomness/Diabloness in the loot.
Think of all our old RPGs that would totally rock with this system. Instead of Carsomyr+5 every game..

I agree, but I wish the crafting system (though I like how it works) offered a bit more customization. The random loot can leave you with very weak gear if you're unlucky, and crafting isn't really there to fall back on.

It's interesting (and frustrating) to see what people have grown accustomed to in games these days. On the forums, people are constantly begging for respawning enemies so they can grind gear and experience, placed loot so they always know where the powerful stuff is, and for some reason end-game content so you can keep playing and becoming more powerful after you've finished the game. Outside of that, there's a lot of complaining about the difficulty (personally, I found it to be perfectly balanced on normal at the start and getting a bit too easy after level 10), no quest markers or hints on where to go (I have never gotten stuck so far, if I couldn't make progress on a quest, there was always something else to do and eventually you find where you needed to go) and A LOT of bitching about "this class is so op, that class is so weak". Man, I knew it was bad but I didn't realize it was this bad. I'm so glad Larian still knows what makes a good rpg. And I hope they don't succumb to the whiners.

Well, I too would like hand-crafted loot over the boring itemization the game has now, and I don't want respawning enemies and quest markers. The game is great though, I'm having a blast.

And I hope they don't succumb to the whiners.

That would be tragic. Meanwhile I'm having a blast so you won't see me on their forums saying shit. Reading just the complaints you listed I'm wondering if these people know what the game was before they bought it.
Personally I like random anything in an RPG like this for replayability. If you get shitty gear there is always "save-scum roulette" if you save before handing in quests.

Yeah, I keep wondering the same thing. I also wonder if it's the downside of a successful Kickstarter/Early Access game. It seems like players feel entitled to requests or even demand rather big changes even after the game has shipped. As if it was still in beta, and the developers would simply keep working on it until everyone is satisfied. Mind you, I haven't seen much at all complaint from backers who were not satisfied. These demands and requests seem to stem more from players who simply don't enjoy the game for what it is.

There are some valid complaints and some improvements can be made, that we might actually see in future patches as it does seem like Larian is listening to the community and hard at work to keep the game patched and polished for now. One example being better sorting for your inventory (and the sorting-related bug that makes items disappear from their respective sorting tabs). And broken/unused crafting ingredients.

Either way, this game is taking up all my free time and then some. Looking forward to some awesome mods in the future, and when I'm done playing I will definitely check out the editor myself. I think this game will have a damn long lifespan.

I REALLY want to get this, especially for the coop play, but I'm afraid I can't run it. I meet all the minimums except video card. Will it work with low settings?
