Does Bethesda listen to feedback?

No.. see that's the beauty of it. I don't really care to argue or persuade any of you, I just offered to observation that what he felt they were doing wrong, were the areas that I actually think they are doing well at.

On thing I did think about recently is in regards to the "color tint" of the new game and the old games that I don't think alot of people have thought about (not talking to those of you that have played them recently because I am sure you realize this), the original game engine was limited to 256 colors. So while the original games are a certain color tone, part of that was a technical limitation. It may have ultimately manifested as a style decision, but the fact that the new game varies by color tint may be something that is also technically enabled. Being in DC obviously makes a difference, but the orignal engine was limited because the tilesets were obuiosly palete constrained, they were extremely constrained, it worked in their case because they got alot of mileage out of the browns. Just a little food for thought.

In terms of weapons they're doing fine (besides the fatman imo.)

It's not the best way to start with the weapons but they havent royally fucked up either.

I assume some people object to the AK74 in Fallout: Tactics or am I reading wrong?

Edit: Also turnbased isometric!!11 is definently flawed logic. I agree.

Tictacs is not canon, SPECIALLY when it comes to weapons. And Vaults. And vehicles. And Deathclaws.

I don't think so. That's not how an 8-bit color display works. See, you don't choose your display colors out of 256 possible ones, two hundred and fifty six is the number of colors that can be maximally displayed on-screen *at the same time*. For an 8 bit display, colors are chosen from a palette of 16777216 different hues to a local palette of 256.

You can achieve lots of color tones with a 256 display, just look at the 'tone' differences between Diablo, Starcraft and Fallout, all on 8-bit palettes.

Just a little food for thought.

If you're not convinced yet, look at the buildings and landscape during the intro and outro, everything has the same tint and pretty much the same color as in-game.

So no go, Joe. The color scheme was a deliberate decision.

I am surprised by this thread, I have heard more people talk positively about F3 than ever before. Just think, by next year we might all be on board.

When it's released and it's good. Replaying Oblivion though makes me feel like any hope is in vein. Whats funny is that a year and a half ago when I first played Oblivion, I thought it was great. All of that "immurshion" and shiny graphics really fooled me, and alot of people at that. Thinking about VATS though, it seems to actually be the only combat system by Bethesdump that's not fucking half-assed. "For them atleast". And speaking of "Immurshun", why would anybody want to be immersed in a crappy universe like elder scrolls? Hah, I KNOW! LETS USE OUR IMMERSION TECHNIQUES ON SOMEONE ELSES UNIVERSE!!! WIN WIN!!!!!!!!!! :|

I salute you brother in pain :salute:

Pff, of course they listen to feedback.

That's not the problem. The problem is they don't accept that feedback and still do things their way.

I forgot today was opposite day.

On that thought, you know what would make Pokemon 1000 times better? If it was first person and on the east coast. Oh yeah and if the Pokemon weren't actually Pokemon anymore. I mean they would be called Pokemon but... nnnh sigh

Tod prays for the commercial successes like Pokemon. He would make a FPS Pokemon game if he can get a license. ;)

Don't be daft.
Hadn't he stated once somewhere that he also tried Barbie computer games in case they had something good?

That is going to be the next big project; a Barbie RPG.

Don't underestimate it. There are reasons behind what I say. Search around if you're interested.

Huh? :? Didn't I make myself clear or something? I mean, you sound like you're being sarcastic, but if you are, then you are complaining precisely against what I'm also complaining. Is that the case?

yet in TB:ISO you could actually see her tits and her backside at the same time!

I'd call that much more immersive.
Barbies are immersion breaking in their very essence...

Well Fallout 2 was not canon (and I dont mean opposite day Fallout 2 was not canon I mean Fallout 2 was not canon) but they still included such 1990's shiny weaponry crap such as the P90 and Jackhammer shotgun and that's all i can remember.

What?

Consensus is that Fallout 2 is canon except where it contradicts Fallout 1 or is just terminally stupid (talking deathclaws)
