Does mapper2 even work on windows 7?

I see theres a high res patch for mapper2 in this forum but the download link is dead. I was trying to run mapper2 last night from a steam version of fallout 2. I set the config to find master.dat at the right place but then it loaded and closed. I then tried redirected it to where i have it in steam and it said i need the fallout CD in or something. How do you get it to work? Also can anyone link the mapper2 high res patch, the link is dead.

The mapper2 works on both of my Win7 machines. As for mapper2 hi-res patch, you can download it from Drobovik's archive.

I set the config to find master.dat at the right place but then it loaded and closed.

Make sure your master.dat is not modified, I've had hard time trying to get it running with anything else than original file.

Nm i forgot to add critter.dat location to the config. Btw that link of high res patch for mapper2, the version 3 says its got a trojan in it on virus total. https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/...ec278a96406bba676f34b8a687576ebfe4c/analysis/

Only Kingsoft reports Win32.Troj.Generic.(kcloud). The rest of antivirus scanners don't find anything suspicious.
I won't trust Kingsoft if I were you.
