The idea of a Dr. Murder playthrough was discussed during the Best Buy interview-- a play of the game where you just kill everyone you see. Honestly, I thought that this was a real weakness of FO3: in FO1 and 2 there wasn't a chance that you could, for example, kill the entire vault at lvl1. The idea of a "Dr. Murder" run being even easily possible seems like it's a bad sign for New Vegas.

But then Josh Sawyer was acting like it was great that it was a possibility. What do you think about the idea of a run like that?

It depends how well it integrates into the system.

But it probably would be the most boring run for me.

Well, I've managed to beat F2 killing everyone and not talking to anyone except for those parts where dialogs were opened by scripts without my desire. It was my fifth or something playthrough and I can't say killing everyone was fun but, well, the possibility was there.
Also I remember one developer (Josh Sawyer as I recall) told in "Fallout New Vegas" you can visit a Deathclaw nest after a five minutes of the game and you can try to kill them all with a level one character but in this situation you will be a hundred to one get your ass kicked severely really fast.

I played thought fallout 2 like that quite a lot, but I found that I had to level up alot before hand, other wise I got my arse handed to me.

So, isn't there any essential (the nonkillable, important to the script)- characters? And killing everyone in sight sounds boring when thinking about it.

No, there are no important unkillable characters. There are still unkillable children, but according to the devs they are not essential to the plot, so you can mod them to be mortal without getting chances to screw your playthrought like you can screw it by killing some essential kids in modded F3.

If I could be bothered I'd look up the quote where the devs are saying how you'll absolutely be able to kill every single character in F:NV. Then I'd point out how bullshit that was and how I was right the whole time by accurately predicting they'd fail to deliver.

I thought that during the Best Buy interview during the attack on the Caesar's Legion he said something like "oh, looks like that's a kid. You'd be screwed on Hardcore," and I was happy. But I must have heard it wrong.

It wasn't to bad, worse case scenerio is you have to use no clip to get around that gate blocking the door to murder pass. That said I always got the little brats to open the door before i blew them away.

Indeed. Also F3 unkillable adults was even worse. Like the freaking immortal Ashur on the bridge in Pitt. A real bitch to swallow.
