Edge interviews Eric Caen on FOOL

I think the issue is not that either Fallout 1,2 or even 3 (and all other games) have silly humor. I think the issue is that in F1 that kind of humor was most of the time juast meant as "joke" will Fallout 3 for example made it a canon and part of the setting and story. Like the aliens you know which never have been a part of the game and suddenly in Fallout 3 they get a own DLC and as how I heard a few people even said that you canfind clues they started the nuclear war or such crap. In either F3 or Vegas you can not just say that its a randoom encounter anymore or just something you encounter, have your fun (or dont) and move on with the other serious tone or black humor. Well thats my issue with the "new" parts of the franchise anyway. But well ... if people love to kill enclave troopers in their samurai armor while a giant robot which could be the grandfather of Optimus Prime spits some US propaganda from before the war at them ...

Ihope the do get FOOL up and running. Would seem a shame to spend all the money the got for selling Fallout and produce nothing

I doubt most of the Fallout sale money went into the MMO, I'm sure most of it must have gone to getting things back up and running.

That being said, according to the original contract anything not present in the final game is property of Interplay. What this basically means is if the MMO is canned, anything they've worked on for Fallout Online is theirs to keep. They are even able to repurpose the entire MMO and release it as something else provided it doesn't have any Fallout elements to it.

I'm not sure how things will go down if Interplay loses the MMO through the lawsuit though.

Bethesda just filed court paperwork requesting a Jury trial from the Judge presiding on this case.

Based on Bethesda's documented unethical behavior, it's safe to say that they will do whatever they can to bribe a jury vote their way, since the other alternative of bribing the judge is much riskier.

Interplay lawyers have been pretty sharp so far, so I'm sure this has to be a grave concern knowing that Bethesda's HQ is not far from where the case is being heard.

Would this still happen in December or will the case be going well into 2011?
