Is there some sort of criteria for getting the Ranger map that has been added? I had no problems getting it in 1.2, but nobody seems to have it in 2.0. I freed the slaves prior to meeting the Rangers - possible cause? They gave me the badge, just no map.

Now how about one for Pixote and Dravean?
And what about me? I want to be mentioned as Grand Admiral "Cannibal" Continuum - captain of the sub, who slaughtered half of the crew during uncontrolled rage and ate their guts.

I had a weird crash. A vagrant in the tanker was blocking the exit and when I wanted to push her, that action wasn´t available, I ended up doing an examine instead and the game crashed.

This is no big issue though.

Ok, I´m have uploaded a savegame where the Chosen One is standing next to the vagrant that crashes the game if you examine her (however it seems you can push her now).

The map is in a container in their hideout. If you are a Ranger now, they won´t object if you look for it.

You gotta play the game to find out, my friend. (but you should wait until 2.1 for the best experience :P)

Please people, no spoiling things here. Let people find stuff out on their own. But since things are already out of the bag, I'll just say that EVERYONE who helped with the RP has a credit in that encounter. And in the event people think this goes against the original intent, the encounter can only be found after you beat the game.

Having trouble in the Abbey:

When I talk to Bill about Super Mutant Armor, his text shows up in my dialogue box, and visa versa, so I'm not able to obtain the armor. Any help or fixes you can direct me to? Thanks!

They should be reversed though, so doesn't choosing the "incorrect" option lead to what you want? In any event, this should be fixed in the emergency update (2.0.2e) due out later today.

EDIT: Actually, it won't be fixed in the update, as I don't want to include a script that some may not have chosen to install from the installer. The armors are an optional install, which is why I'm saying this. I'll just include the file in my post when I release the update.

I downloaded both the Francis fix and the Missing persons fix to my data/scripts folder, and they overwrote the old scripts as expected. I did this with the game not running. I'm still unable to complete missing persons, and I still get a crash when confronting Francis (talking first to the mine overseer, but not Marcus). Saved game:

I did go back down to the cave and examine all the bodies, and read the note after finding it. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Funky

Everything worked fine in that save game for me. Hmmm, if you say they overwrote the old files, then it should have worked. Either way, I'm releasing an update (2.0.2e) shortly that will address this issue. Since it is working for me, I'll assume it will work for you when you install the update.

Please tell someone how to get to a shi sub
Gameplay questions don't belong here. But, ask around San Fran. Have you spoken with the tanker captain yet?

I'm having an issue I haven't seen mentioned here.

The moment you can access the pipboy in Arroyo (and perhaps even before, when you can't check it) It seems like there are a great many plot flags already checked that shouldn't be, given that when I go into the status screen it shows locations like the EPA and the abbey with a bunch of crossed off quests.

I'm running Windows 7, fresh install, no other mods.

How do I fix this?

Also, I can't seem to find my savegame folder. Is it just being hidden from me, or is it located somewhere else?

Did you install the original game to your Program Files directory? Apparently this is a problem for Vista/7. I'd suggest reinstalling the game to a different directory and then installing the RP again. Make sure you don't have a patch000.dat file in your main F2 directory.

Yes, i have spoken with a captain - a got no info about sub at all.
And you have the quest to get the tanker working? Did you ask him: "I hear you're the one who knows all about this ship."

Have you spoken to the motor boat guard by the docks? Or the dock worker there? Some more information about your current state in the game would be useful.

Thanks for looking, and for the reply. I'll eagerly await the update. The only potential issue I can think of is that I DID install in Program Files (running 64 bit Win 7), though I later saw that this was recommended against when I read the last 15 pages or so of this thread. I haven't had any issues with that to this point, as far as I can tell.

As an aside, I fixed the alt-tab crash by running windowed, having not see the fix mentioned earlier in this thread.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Alright, the emergency update I promised is now ready. Again, this includes only a fraction of the fixes I've made, but these are ones that I consider critical and needed to get out to the public asap. Remember, a big update (2.1) is due out in early May. This will address all known issues and even add in some new stuff (minor).

Download and extract it to your main Fallout 2 directory. Overwrite the files already there. You know it is updated if the rock at the start of the game says 2.0.2e.

April 17th 2010 (NOT INCLUDED IN FULL RELEASE)
Update 2e (2.0.2e)
-Already includes all previous updates
-Fix for Den slowdowns.
-Fix for Gecko-Enclave Verti encounter slowdowns.
-Fix for a problem with repair message for EPA Robot Control Computer.
-Fix for NPC's lockers at the EPA - would open when they shouldn't, etc.
-Fixed crash with Francis when confronting him about the note.
-Fix for inability to complete missing person quest at Broken Hills.
-Fixes to appearance mod (Fixes issues of corruption after saving in combat) Still not recommended to save in combat!
-Fixed issue with Balthas, which causes him to mimic the dialogue of whatever previous character you talked to when speaking about Johnny.
-Fixed issue with the Brain, which causes him to mimic the dialogue of whatever previous character you talked to.
-Fixed crash when completing the Primitive tribe merchant exchange.
-Fixed dialogue loop for dumb characters when speaking with Kaga.
-Fixed problem with Carlson's gate guard not giving the option to enter. - You MUST enter this section of NCR for the first time for this fix to work.
-Various map fixes.

Wonderful ^_^
Serves me right for not looting every container =P

Is the closed Vault 15 door changed to an open one in this update? It's not a big issue since I just go there shooting up everyone anyway, but it's still annoying.
